I can't wait for me next big match at Croker. Holding a big dump now for some biddy's 1 metre wide front garden. She may expect the pyramid of poo, never mind the Bertie bowl.

Jesus Christ. It's posts like this that make me glad the concerts are cancelled. No one deserves this kind of scum in their neighbourhood.

I think there is a lot of misguided anger here, particularly from the fans to the residents which I think is unfair. While I am not a Garth Brooks fan myself I know plenty of people who were desperate for tickets, I get that. It isn't the residents fault though, yes, they live near Croke Park, but that does not mean that they should be subjected to anti social behaviour and have to deal with what come with gatherings at Croke Park.

I personally blame the GAA and Aiken promotions, there was an agreement in place, they decided to break that agreement, blatantly not giving a crap because of all the money involved. I can only assume that they felt that Dublin City Council wouldn't give them any bother for the same reason. Now there are 400,000 fans being left disappointed, I can understand the vitriol, but not it being directed at the residents in the way that it has been by some. I think they had stand up because if they didn't then how many concerts would the GAA have allowed next year?

I do believe that had all parties sat down together and consulted one another this could have been sorted. Sadly it didn't happen and I doubt that it will which I think is a crying shame, it's the fans and residents I feel really sorry for.

Only last week a field of cows escaped and came into our yard, ate our grass and massive sh!tes all over the place.

The farmer got his cows, left the cow sh!te. Hasnt been a drop of rain to wash the sh!te away. And we're not complaining. These are things you just have to get on with living in the country.

I posted in the first couple of pages about my experience of living directly in the shadow of CP(if anyone cares to take a look:P)about this exact thing, and worse happening on concert days. Its not a joke or some internet thing. This kind of thing is a regular occurrence and not a keyboard warriors joke.
The first time someone p1ssed through my letterbox was admittedly on a match day. But after that, I was ready for concert night. I tapped the letterbox etc but they just pee'ed all over my hall door and onto my front entrance to the house. I have had pint glasses of urine left on my window sill. Along with dirty great big poo's on windowsill and step. People coming over the wall of the house and doing all sorts. Complete and total disregard for peoples homes and lives.

If this is true arm yourself with an air rifle take the law in your own hand, if some one sticks their parts through your letter box have a gas torch ready to burn it, electrify your premises.
Fight fire with fire, ringing Joe Duffey the following day wont solve the problem.

Are you aware that Irish homeowners can now legally use guns to defend themselves if their homes are attacked under new legislation?

Pint glasses of urine left on your window sill? Are these plastic or glass?

Im sure croke park dont hand out pint glasses to p!ss in.

Those glasses could come from any pub and from anyone.

There was some comment on the journal.ie during the week from someone living in the area that anti social behaviour cant be blamed on concert goers or match goers. Every friday and saturday there was the same problems regardless.

Many of us camped out for tickets for days and nights without anywhere to go during the night and we didnt crap the streets. We waited until the morning. Maybe we respect our towns more.

That kinda crap cant be blamed on everyone.

In all fairness, cows are not housetrained and would and do sh!t anywhere. I would rather see a flat cow pat than a walnut whip human deposit in my front yard.

That is a bit hectic to be honest and unhelpful, to put it mildly.

You Irish people are a Sick, Sick bunch. Perhaps all of you complaining about the total disregard for your property by Croke Park attendees, should look at your fellow Irish citizen.

Here in America, we have lots of problems to be sure, but disregard for property by concert or sporting event goers is not one of them. New Orleans has Jazz Fest every year, with people around the race track where it's held having an absolute blast. Some hold barbecues in their front lawn. Others sell parking spots on their driveways. Same with Mardi Gras, and there is a whole lot of drinking going on for that.

Same goes with stadiums. The Rose Bowl & Coliseum in LA are the same whenever a sporting event or concert is held. They each host many college football games, complete with inebriated college students attending, but you never hear a single thing about a lack of decorum. Sure, people have to walk the street before and after the event, but locals just deal with it. We're talking a few times a year out of 365 days in the year.

All this talk by you posters is just going to show that the Irish are a bunch of drunken animals with no regard for decency or respect. What amazes me is that with all the bars you guys have, and all the drinking that goes on every single night of the year there in Dublin, that the residents near the bars downtown are able to live their lives without constant disruption. I guess the crazies only come out for concerts there, and just stay at home the rest of the year. Sad society you folks have, very sad. And coming from an American, that's saying something, because we're not exactly the best of the bunch, but we're certainly better than that.

TBF I was actually supporting the residents:rolleyes::rolleyes:

as I said before id not fancy thousands people passing my front door everynight for five nights

OH MY GOD!!! Passing by your door for Five Whole Nights? I agree, that's a calamity.

And it's really twice that, since they have to pass by going to the concert and coming back. So it's really 10 times they're passing by the front door.

It's almost too scary to think about. I think I finally understand it now, thanks for explaining. I totally agree.

We have plenty of idiots here in the U.S.A. that waste their time posting on message boards as if their lives are somehow being ruined by this or that.

But the fact you Irish seem to have this almighty concern about licenses and rules about # of shows, along with the reasons being stated here, shows that something is very, very wrong.

Honestly, I find it amazing that we are somehow able to live out our lives while still having stadiums that hold large events many times with few, if any, problems. So yeah, perhaps we are more civilized than some of you Irish folk, and as I said, that is pretty sad given that we're not exactly the brightest bulbs in the bunch.

One of the dumbest "traditions" in sports was kept alive on Sunday night with fans rioting in the streets of Baltimore after the Ravens defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII.
