You're saying she wouldn't care about the consequences though.
Her acts suggest she doesn't but I would assume she cares a lot right now.

    Course she bleedin' does!

Do you think she deserves the treatment she's getting?

The video was put on the internet against her wishes, same as if one of your sexual encounters was put online. Sure it was irresponsible of her, it's much more likely for public sex acts to end up online than private sex acts, but it's still victim blaming. She's the victim here, it's not her fault that videos have been sent to her parents, it's the **** who sent the emails.
She carried out the act in a public place at a time when everyone carries a camera on them at all times. Everyone is aware of this and most people wouldn't put themselves in that situation but she did. That was a choice she made and now she has to deal with the consequences. Hopefully she'll learn from this.

The sun, as a quality newspaper for quality people, has her on its front page.

The editor of the sun is David Dinsmore.

He's the man who will be faux-apologizing for editorial management oversights in about a week when she tops herself.

There was no crime. She's just a stupid girl who didn't think.

Imagine this "news story" was on the front cover a national newspaper! Of course the video was put on their website so people could have a good look at it repeatedly and get their rocks off SORRY be appalled and horrified by the "disintegration of society" and the "lack of morals of yoof today". It oozes hypocrisy. Horrible stuff.

Yep. And definitely not deserving of the treatment she's getting online.

They're making a vast number of high horse moral judgements and firing out abuse, which is obviously what hes on about.

You'll have to answer the question I've asked you a few times now first: does she deserve the treatment she's getting e.g. what's happening on 4chan (personal details posted and the video sent to family members etc) and having her photo and video printed in tabloid newspapers and all over the internet so everyone will know who she is which will inevitably lead to bullying offline as well as online.

Answer me straight: does she deserve it? Yes or no?

People are attracted to this sort of scandal like flies on shít the girl would do well to ignore them and take this as a bitter lesson well learned. I do pity the girl but I believe people have to accept the consequences of their actions and alcohol is no excuse.

It's victim blaming and it's completely disproportionate to what she did. If you walk down a dark alley and get mugged, should you "accept the consequences" of your actions with people criticising your behaviour or would you feel hard done by? Maybe she shouldn't have done what she done, but the vilification is undeserved - she didn't harm anyone.

She deserves it but I won't partake because it's distasteful. I do pity her though and I hope she can get through this ok.

I would feel hard done by of course and I would make note not to go down that alleyway again.

Harmless actions can have negative consequences.

I hate even being caught in the background when people are taking pictures when I'm walking down the street, or ending up in photos that assholes upload to facebook after a night out when they're swanning around with their poxy fecking phones and cameras - I'd be mortified if someone uploaded a video of me sucking off twenty-four guys...

    Helllll noooooo.

Some of the reactions of the internet are pure evil.

Also, I don't see anything 'shameful' about the act. There consenting adults.

    *Shrugs*

None of the parties (besides the people who uploaded the video) should ashamed.

The only way this kind of thing will stop being a scandal is if we normalize sex to the point at which there's nothing "forbidden", "dirty" or "naughty" about it.

Plenty of things people do for fun wouldn't attract any scandal at all. A video of her playing snooker in the club against 24 men would be considered mundane. Until we manage to eradicate all shame around sex in this manner, it will continue to be "scandalous".

I dunno. Some days I think the internet is the dog's bollocks and some days I think it's a load of me hole.
