I dunno, that article to me reads like the first 3 are definitely confirmed and a decision on the later two is still pending.

"Dublin City Council has denied reports that it has granted permission for only three out of five planned Garth Brooks concerts scheduled for Croke Park in July

A spokesperson for the council said no decision had been made and that a decision should be made "later today or tomorrow".

The GAA has confirmed that three of the five concerts - on 25, 26 and 27 July - would go ahead."

You do know that incitement to riot is illegal and boards can pass that post on to the authorities??

You should report it to the cyber police, they're working in conjunction with the fun police to bring Garth Brooks fans to justice.

i thought they hated the problems caused by the crowds on match days and complained about that too?

Maybe they do hate the disruption caused by some matches but when have residents groups ever threaten to go to court over the stadium being used for sporting events? Residents may have complained in the past about their gardens being urinated in and bad parking etc by match goers but they've only actually taken action once these 5 nights were announced. They didn't hint at action before the 3 night One Direction run and I think if Atkien had have kept it to a 2 or 3 night run for GB then there would have been no threat of legal action. 5 nights (8 in total this year) pushed it too far and that was the straw that broke the camels back.

I really hope that certain personalities in this thread have tickets for the cancelled dates.

I’m surprised with a mooohasive amount of money being generated by the concerts that they didn’t chuck a larger amount at the residents.

Wonder if they fired a north of €1,000,000 their way would it have kept them stum?

Irish promoters are a joke. Look at Marley park last week people walking for hours as no transport was put on.

Irish promoters do the bare minimum in providing safety and other amenities for concert goers.

In Belgium a concert ticket will get you free public travel to the event for that day meaning you won't drive to the event blocking the place up.

In the UK you have P&R every where with some events having no car parks only P&Rs to get in and out of the event meaning that locals can go about their business like normal and not have cars across their driveways.

Its a joke of a service that MCD and Akin put on, Grab the cash and run. Each night is making the promoter €5.23 million. That was to be over €20 million for all 5 days if they got there way and wasn't going to provide any P&Rs or any thing extra to help traffic in the area.

Couldn't they play the other two concerts elsehwere, maybe Cork or Limerick rather than cancelling them outright?

I wonder will those who brought tickets to the two cancelled nights be compensated in some way?

Fair play to the residents for sticking to their guns.

This would be the sensible thing to do, which is why it will never happen here.

Of course we have crap public transport outside the cities, but all the more reason to give lots of work to coach drivers all over the country.
    Win-win.

thats fair enough, but if i lived next to a stadium, i would be expecting disruptions like this as part of the convenience of living next to a stadium of its size in the capitol city of Ireland, if i didn't like it, i'd move, as someone looking to buy at the moment these are all things we are considering, what is in the locality? what could it be developed into?

i just don't get how people manage to buy in area's like this and then complain that it is too busy, if you want a quiet life go live in the country side and commute, if you don't mind busy live in the city,

Common sense? That would be not moving an 80.000 capacity gig at 3 weeks notice.

Petty begrudgers? they the ones threatening to ****e in someones garden cause they cant get mouldy and sway around a field?

I suppose people who bought their tickets from ticketmaster will get a refund, minus the booking fee.
But anyone who bought from a tout or ebay/getmein/toutless will never see a red cent of a refund.

These gigs have been a rollercoaster of emotions for ticket touts I'd say

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Out of curiousity I just check Ticketmaster, and they are still selling tickets for the Monday and Tuesday

(I also spotted who the "support acts" are for the concerts - now I understand why the residents are up in arms :p)

No, I feel bad for people who have lost money. I don't feel bad for people on this thread who acted in the most classless way possible.

Actually some touts will actually be in for a wind fall as they claim the money from ticketmaster even though they have already sold on tickets!!!
