Happy days. I'm absolutely delighted that DCC saw some sense.
It's a win for the little guys and a bitter pill to swallow for the umpteen trolls that have been festering in this thread.
    Great start to the day!

Plenty of trolling going on from both sides of the debate - nobody really comes off smelling of roses on this one.

They're not complaining about match days and the gig nights have't been going on that long and never 8 nights in one year before.

i thought they hated the problems caused by the crowds on match days and complained about that too?

Rightly so. 5 nights was a disgrace. Greed & stupidity = lethal cocktail.

Strange, giving how many times this has been mentioned, that noone can link to it? Most i've seen is a link to someone mentioning it.
No - I've seen it. It's from the planning permission in the early 90s. It's one of the conditions for granting permission. Think it's called something like three non sporting events.

they still somewhere in the last 50-60 years bought a house on the doorstep of a stadium and now are complaining because it's too busy??? they should have known it was going to be busy at times, like my other examples it seems to be an irish thing of not doing your research properly before buying a home, and complaining after the fact!

or maybe they did do their homework and bought at a time when Croke Park was only ever holding a limited amount of games. It is only in the recent past that the GAA have significantly bumped up the number of games and added an increasing number of Concerts.

Has anyone managed to link to the phantom agreement that the residents claim exists prohibiting more than 3 concerts in a year?

    Delighted for the residents!

No they agreed that they could hold three concerts per year without the need to apply for a licence, and that any concerts above this number would require a licence application.

Strange, given how many times this has been pointed out, that some people seem incapable of basic comprehension.
It's also beyond some peoples basic comprehension that someone might join a thread without reading the last 3000 posts.

So they agreed to 3 concerts a year? Thank you

The prices people will sell their tickets for on the three nights will shoot up now.

In the fog of war details are sketchy, but the councillor who sent the initial tweet is still saying the city councillor has said there's only 3.

fair enough, like i said you see similar problems here in cork with people who bought on the doorstep of a university and then complain about living near students????

so i thought it was something similar as a young one from Cork i always remember big gigs happening in Dublin :D

They agreed to submit a licence application if they wanted more than 3 per year, which is exactly what they've done.

You're not a "townie" so therefore have no idea what you're on about wrt any disruptions that would be caused.

If I was you I'd be hoping there was no such thing as Karma. Going by your comments on the thread alone I'd say you're overdue a fair bit.

It's for 5 days it's not like they'r building an airport beside these residents. It's so symptomatic of this moany nothing better to do but complain attitude in this country of some people. Theyv spent how many days and how much of their time complaining about the whole thing just get over it this one time

Seems confirmed now, only 3 going ahead as will the 500k payment to the legacy fund.
I wonder will the promoters bring this to court. Interesting to see what they say.

Definitely cancelled for Monday and Tuesday. Will seriously cost TM , and good enough for them, I don't like them. Feel bad for people who had tickets, especially those who bought off touts. A win for the little guys like was said, happy days

They could move the Mon/Tue gigs to the Pheonix Park. Ensure Dublin doesn't loose out on the revenue from these gigs.

To be fair match days aren't the same as concerts - there's no way near as much disruption (or as many people going these days). People generally head up to the match and leave as quick - they know the routine of it if that makes sense? With concerts there's more people, they get lost, get drunk, wee on your wall etc etc etc
