Crazy how they pulled it off. Would 2 more nights be so bad? This tool makes some people very happy.

I suspect the €500,000 they were offered will be firmly off the table now. They pushed it too far and will end up with nothing but the rest of the country pissed with them.

People are bringing it up though and the "what about the people that booked hotels argument" and using this to attack the residents..its not their fault that aiken dropped the ball.

I'm not a Garth Brooks fan but the loss of revenue across a broad range of industries from this will be immense. Public transport fares, taxi fares, pub trade, hotels, reinvestment into clubs from GAA profits etc etc... Not to mention Ireland's reputation. What a joke!

I don't think you understand economics. That money isn't going to combust and disappear, they'll spend that money in their localities, just because its not being spent in Dublin doesn't mean it's not benefiting our economy

this was to be a legacy fund to go into local projects in the area. Do you honestly think that this was going to be divvied up between residents?

Do you know how many people are travelling from up north and the UK to attend? If I recall correctly it was around a quarter to a third of the tickets sold!

If the licences aren't granted it's because aiken messed up somewhere in the application< I don't see how you don't get this.
