Ordered my 4x 225/45/R17 94Y Uniroyal Rainsport 3's from Camskill anyway

    €335.64 delivered.

Most local places were charging 100-135 for pure muck in that size with the wrong load and speed ratings so im happy out as i get the tyre i want and fitting alignment and balancing with only be €80 or so.

Why not go to discount tyres in Blanch? 352 for 4 in that size inc fitting, throw 40/45 on top for alignment and you are still saving. support local and all that

My new aluminium water pump pulley has arrived! At least now I'll get the pump back on and the car running this evening. Great success!

finally heard today that the insurance will cover all the damage to the car, they just want the garage doing the work to bill them after.

The great feeling will be knowing that the cooling system in that car is finally getting to a stage where it'll be sorted again. It's been a thorn in my side for the last while.

That being said, expansion tank should have been replaced already....touch wood!

Trying to sort NCT for the GTI so I can get it done early and sold. Nothing available in Dublin till September. Not even the mention of a free test could budge them. Been put on the "callback list".

IF Dublin is the same as down here - the slot WILL magically appear via the callback.

I have no idea why this is the case - its like magic - your told no slots for 3 months - go on priority list - or callback - and errr - couple of weeks later they've found a slot.

    Amazing stuff

    Loving the reply.
Hi >insert customers name here to appear sincere<

"Copy and paste corporate drivel" "Copy and paste corporate drivel" "Copy and paste corporate drivel" "Copy and paste corporate drivel" "Copy and paste corporate drivel" "Copy and paste corporate drivel" "Copy and paste corporate drivel" "Copy and paste corporate drivel"

You don't fit into the type of customer we feel makes us the most profit and least amount of payouts i.e you drive a car bigger than 1.4, still dare to be young enough to present a risk, still are male, still not a teacher/priest/nun/housewife and while we can't not quote you a renewal we would sincerely like to push you out.

    Kind regards

Please, no... it's bad enough to get the constant redirects to the Android market when trying to browse Adverts.ie.

123.ie says "groundbreaking cover... that's why over 230,000 customers have chosen 123.ie for car insurance"

so I checked to see what quote I would get (since I have to renew in 2 months) and it's twice as much as I'm paying right now.

    *insert facepalm here*

A considerable portion of the internet would disagree with you there.

Let them fill their phones with separate applications for every site they visit then...

Indeed, I don't want your proxy app, just let me look at the bloody website!

Yep, few cracks around the window, no leaks though.
Couple of things to sort out but nothing major.

Passenger window isn't moving, hoping it's just wiring.
Thermo is shut closed so it get's hotter than I'd like but doesn't move, part costs €10.
Bit of rust on the passenger door, along the bottom of the window. Hoping it's not too much work. Looks just to be surface corrosion where the trim has weathered away.
Car was broken into a few months back, the drivers lock got mangled but it still works on the fob.
Alarm works but the speaker is broken.
    Issue with the driver's indicators.

Those and a service, not bad for a 24 year old car?
    I think anyway... :o

    100% on the list.
If not a OEM one then a lightweight fiberglass one. The mod's planned are extensive. :P

Liberty wouldn't even quote me. They're for old-farts and 1l Corsa owners only. Anyone else can spin on a finger

And yet they're the only ones willing to insure me on a 535d.

    Odd.
