Just thought I'd compile a list off all the extras we should expect with our water charges!

Regular arguments with your family about water usage.
    Stress due to water usage.
Anxiety due to water charges...... Anyway you get the message.

I think the larger sometimes less well off families are the ones that will suffer most. And I really do think that 'occupancy' of house-hold should be a MAJOR factor when calculating bills.

I thought this was gonna be a list of options, like still or sparkling, fluoridated or not etc. I am disappoint.

In apartment blocks, a one bedroom apartment will be charged the same amount as a 3-4 bedroomed apartment. No incentive to cut down on water use.

Tapping into your neighbours pipe is the answer, just stick it in and say nothing.

I'm damn sure I'm not going to start arguing with myself over the head of water charges!

Since they say cleanliness is next to godliness. I thought Satan of all people, would be really delighted with the inevitable increase in national Mong levels.

It should even itself out as the poor/unemployed wash less regularly than the employed/rich.

Do you have these arguments about electricity and central heating? Water has cost you nothing so far but they have cost you thousands. What has that done to your stress levels? Do you have these arguments about food waste? That should be very stressful if your household is typical. Do any other services like the ESB take occupancy into account even in a MINOR way?

Studies show that single parent families bathe their children less frequently than heterosexual couples, while homosexual couples bathe their children most of all.

Studies of Irish families? Are lesbian couples and male gay couples equal in all the studies of this behaviour?

Why should homosexual couples of either gender be treated differently. What defines you more, your gender or your sexual orientation?

I think when it comes to 'water' the tenant base in a House would make a much greater difference in usage when compared to Heating or Electricity!
    Would you not agree........

Studies have shown I think about lesbian couples bathing themselves quite frequently.

What prompted the studies of the frequency with which different family formations bathe their children? Have you any links to the studies, and were they done in Ireland or elsewhere?

The only factor logically to me which would influence how often children are bathed or indeed the usage of water for any other activity is the cost of the water. Up until now and for the time being it is free in Ireland so there should be no difference between single parent families, hetrosexual couples or homosexual couples of either gender. Again what was the motivation for doing such studies?

Edit: The cost of heating the water would be a factor. But it has nothing to do with family type.

Ok, heres a very summarised small scenario
Mary has 3 children and Joan has 2....
All five children are watching TV in their respective warm Homes.
Both mothers decide to make their children a warm beverage before giving them a shower and putting them to bed.
As the kids are falling asleep both parents receive an itemised bill of all that happened and can be billed in each House in the last two hours!
    Who Receives the highest bill?

I didn't vote these shower of w######s in power and I will never pay for polluted, toxic tap water.
It stinks of chemicals and tastes dreadful. Undrinkable.

They are subservient to the EU and do not listen to the wishes of the people.
Lying corrupt dictators in suits, we would be better off voting the three main parties out of power and vote for Independents and Sinn Fein.
Yes Sinn Fein, because we are not living in a democracy.
We didn't have a vote on whether to implement installation of meters or pay for water charges therefore we are all living in a controlled forced dictatorship.

Show the two fingers to the other three parties and vote for Sinn Fein and Independents if you want to have more of a say and wish to have more money in your already depleted bank accounts.
    The Dail is just theatre.
It is a farce. :P

fill as many tanks of water as you can now before the charges come in, and brew a load of beer and wine.

Well it's nice you can afford to shower with bottled water. I however will use the mains like a normal person pay the bill and get on with life

Bottled water for a shower. :D
I am looking in to a rain water system and installing it myself for showering in the near future.
The problem with most people in this country is that they just take the hit and accept it instead of using some initiative and sticking up for themselves.
I am talking generally and not having a go at you.

I am a normal person however though when one isn't given a vote and a choice and you are forced against your will to pay for water which is in abundance in Ireland then one knows something is wrong with the way this country is being run.

The leaks in old pipes and implementation of fluoride are the problems.
The normal people are the ones who are protesting about water meters and impending water charges.
Do you think that it is right in your opinion for the public to be screwed until the pips squeak to pay all of these extra taxes including bank charges?

I just saw this online after googling.
I am not affiliated in any way with them.

You sound very stressed about it - having a nice bath in the evening might help
