Yep you left out one huge thing........you forgot to tell us what you're getting next biggrin.png

Ah I love the Rav, but I just fancy a change. I'm thinking of getting something cheap and cheerful next, hatchback of some variety.

Save my pennies and then after that go for a newer, tax-killing, diesel-gulping Toyota Hilux or BMW X5 (or something along those lines).

Ad looks go. I'd get rid of the artsy photos and just add pics of all 4 sides.

I didn't realise I was being artsy :o (well, except for the night shot).

I thought the other photos were alright, but you're probably right. I'll grab some photos straight from the sides later on and add them in. Makes sense, alright.

Bought my first car there at the start of the week; Carzone link below...

    Clicky

Those pics don't actually do it justice; its far cleaner and nicer in the flesh.

Anyways; main point of this post is to say this forum was a seriously helpful tool in deciding what to go for, what to look out for and what to do when buying. But mainly; massive thanks to Kaiser2000 who gave me a lot of advice and looked over a few on Carzone/DD for me. Pints are on me if we ever meet buddy. :)

To be honest id lose the pic of it off road. And you need pics of the passenger side too. Having part of the car missing implies there's something wrong with it.

I do all my own servicing and I put it down in the service book. I also have every receipt for everything I bought from wiper covers to turbos. I know some people will say "oh shur I did it meself no boddur lad" but do they have proof? I consider my receipts to be the proof.

Having had cars with full service histories/quality parts fitted/even "specialist" receipts amounting to thousands of euros in a short space of time, I've come to the conclusion that no matter what was done or what was bought either the ape driving the car or monkeys that did the work will have left the car in a right state. That's not a dig at you atall, just the way I see things. I only trust a very select few when it comes to external work, which is very rare.

The worst I've seen is quite recently I had to put in a new box/clutch for a fella and generally service the car. This particular car was maintained by so called specialists, with many thousands of euros spent in a short space of time. I have pics of the rebuild, to say it was shoddy work is an understatement: taking the timing belt the belt done by them a few thousand miles prior (not long on the car mileage wise) there were bolts missing, out of timing. An utter shambles

I ain't naming names so don't ask either

Everyone here knows that I take better care of my car than I do of myself. I only buy OEM parts from BMW apart from brake pads which are EBC. I don't fvck about when it comes to my car ;)

Well wear. Not wanting to piss on your parade though but is the price not a big high for a six year old 100k Passat?

I never sold a car before. Does this ad look alright, or am I overlooking something obvious?

    As OSI says, you need to take photos from all angles of the bodywork. Seems like you took the photos standing quite a distance from the bodywork so its hard to get a proper look at it closely. IMO, the photos should be;

    Front
    Front, right

    Side, right
    Side, left

    Rear
    Rear, left

And a few of the interior.

The ad description is great though.

Oh I'm well aware of that ;)

If there were more that took this attitude we could all have nice things, not cobbled up cars with dog biscuit airbag modules (honestly, whoever did that must be the lowest person I've ever had the misfortune of trying to clean up that mess, it sickens me to think someone did that and charged full whack for that "fix")

    Yeah, definitely.

Just cripple him from the neck down so he has to live knowing he put side repeaters on the bumper.

    Cheers.

Ended up getting it for 8.5k with a 12 month warranty so I was happy enough with that. There's fairly crazy (9k+) money being asked for lower spec'd versions with the 1.9 engine.

I'll be doing a 360km spin once a week so needed something to gobble up those miles. :o

so the insurance company will give me a courtesy car, wonder if the BMW 5 series is available as I wouldn't mind giving that a go.

Trivial question, do all new cars come with fitted OEM mats, or are they an option?

They've been standard on every new car I've bought but it's not always the case.

I dont really care if your fancy irish rail train does over 160kph, 16.80 is way too much for a single from dublin to portlaoise !

And if I had known there was no exit barrier at portlaoise o wouldve lied bout where I was going !

They look like American style reflectors on that R32.

VW have done a much better job of it in the MK7. The orange sidelight is built into the side of the main headlight cluster, it's hardly noticeable at all in the pics I've seen.
