Some Man Utd supporters seem to be convinced he is signing! Juventus seemed to be strongly linked, and as I mentioned last night the Metro has drawn his name out of the Liverpool transfer nonsense drum for todays edition.

I thought Johnson actually had a pretty good game barring one or two poor crosses. I've no idea why people are blaming him for the goal, Balotelli was obviously being marked by Cahill and it was Johnson's job to stick to his own man (Marchisio?), who had made a very clever run to get Balotelli the space. I'd credit the attack more than i'd criticise the defenders for that goal.

Agreed on the 2nd point but, while Johnson was fit, competent on the ball and passed it fairly well, he still ran into defenders and lost the ball for no reason a load of times.

Even when he's technically good, his decision making can be atrocious.
Least impressive England player for me was Leighton Baines. Then again I may be biased as I went completely off him when he couldn't be bothered in the second half of the City/Everton game at end of season.

To be fair, he was having to get through a huge amount of work with Rooney in front of him.

I actually thought England played well enough, in all honesty.

    Sterling was just fantastic.

They actually played a lot better than when they drew with Italy in the 2012 Euros. That night they barely created a decent chance and pretty much ran around after Italy for 120 minutes.

Had a fiver on Sterling to score first and had thought he had produced a belter in the first few minutes. Dam you side netting..

The one thing that has amazed me about Sterling from say this time last year even is how bloody strong the lad seems to have gotten.

That was the one thing I always thought would stop him becoming a top player.

Just imagine Sterling and Ibe together in a year or so. Official time will need resetting at the end of every Liverpool game.

To be fair, he was having to get through a huge amount of work with Rooney in front of him.

On Baines, the BBC panel highlighted a few occasions where Rooney didn't cover back and his poor positioning when he did. Baines covered the more central player till Rooney came back and then went out to try to stop the cross.

'It is never normal for me to play against Gerrard,' De Rossi said after the game. 'It always gets me emotional, I won’t deny it.
'Of course, on the field you’ve got to get stuck in there, but it is always a pleasure and an honour. He’s also a very nice guy, always very approachable.
'I cheered on Liverpool until the end, but they lost the Premier League title in an incredible way.
'Players like Gerrard, Andrea Pirlo, Frank Lampard, Xavi or Iniesta never go past the apex of their careers.'

I must say I've never been overly impressed with Shaqiri and he didn't play well today either but he does have a lot of talent. I like the way he always has his head up looking for options. Quick, strong and two good feet also.

I think he is worth investing in if the price isn't too high.

For half the price of Lallana he is well worth investing in.

I thought the fee being mentioned was near £20 million no?

I think Lallana is a better player at this moment in time by the way.

15m was the last I saw compared to Southampton wanting 30m for Lallana.

Firmino is cheaper than both (race to the bottom!)

Lallana is a different player to Shaqiri to be fair.

I think Shaqiri is quite similar to Sterling. In that respect I would value Sterling much higher at this point in time. Looks to have a better attitude which is very important.

We will end up with Adam Johnson.

I'd happily take both for 30m I think thats what Brendan and Ayre are trying to do.

I'd take him for €15M, but I'm not convinced by him as many here seem to be.

Griezmann coming up next is the dream signing for me.

I haven't seen his name featuring amongst the transfer speculation rumours.
Is he likely to leave Sociedad this summer?

Think he was linked with Cheslea either last summer or in Jan.
Arsenal have also been tagged with him in the BS sections.

    Real Madrid are linked naturally.

Griezmann will become a hot property and number 1 target for a lot of top clubs during this World Cup.

I think he could be the stand out French player attacking wise.

If a bid of around €25-30M comes in, he'll be off for sure, which is a fair price considering what others players are going for these days.
