    I know this probably isn't the best place for this so feel free to move.

    I started taking 5-htp about two months ago, mainly for a little mood booster and to help with my truly awful pms. I'm absolutely delighted with the results to my moods, my sleep and my eating. I've lost a good bit of weight which wasn't actually why I was taking it but having done some reading it seems to be a big benefit of it too.
    I just wish I knew a bit more about it, why isn't it licenced in Ireland? Does anyone else take this?
    Is there anything that I should know about it? I've done as much reading as I can but there doesn't seem to be much information.

    It’s hard to get stuff licensed here that affects neurotransmitters and hormones. I did read a few studies years ago about it possibly having a negative effect on the heart.

    With this kind of stuff a lot of research should be done first.
