Ya I let both of ours get neglected for a few weeks , only got around to sorting them out this past two days. So much easier to clean them every week or so, so that dirt doesn't have too much of a chance to gather on the carpets/ get caked onto the paintwork!

Been waiting patiently for paint for the pajero, tiny 30ml bottle was what I ordered, now realising that it won't be enough. Might try halfords again, they don't have it pre made, but I hear that they mix paint for you...

In a rattle can or what? Just the code you need I take it? You wouldn't know the rough price would you. The way things work with this pajero is - it's dads, but I pull the shots and tell him that X Y and Z needs to be gotten, and so he gives me the moniez - quite the fair system :D He couldn't give a crap if it was left as it is!

Picked up another bangernomics special yesterday, think I'll be giving this one to herself after a bit of work done on it.

1999 Vw Golf GT TDI , lowered on coilovers and staggered alloys. Needs a "cooooooooooooo", came with test, an epic subwoofer (and a mix cd of rap music lol) , less than 1500 all in.

Fun drive back from limerick, I drove it back since I had open insurance and the memories of my mark4 TDI were flowing back. I've driven faster cars (a lot faster) and I've driven more refined and better equipped cars. But in its class, it's hard to beat a mk4 TDI for comfort economy and torque.

Yeah, MK4's are great cars. Way more economic than that 'murrican truck of yours. :P

I know, MPG isn't that relevant when you're driving something you love. All about the smiles. :)

Had a gawk at the car this morning and noticed something was amiss. No word of a lie, this has happened to every car I've had and it boils my blood! And yes, I'm aware of the filth

My local vw garage had a kind of open day today. My parents were going for a look and I said I'd go along. They had a mk7 golf high line there a fair car my mother loved it. Serious amount of room too. There could be another golf addition to the family soon :) there not as expensive as I thought either tbh. The tungsten grey colour in them is lovely.

Went to view this with a friend this evening. We're looking to buy something together as a challenge and make something really cool out of it (undecided on what exactly atm). Its fairly bad in all respects. The bodywork had 9 holes and both sills needed doing. Floors were alright though. Interior was lived in by mice, and it wasn't even turning over. Offered a cheeky €250, we'll see what happens tomorrow.

My friend who I'm buying it with has a history of such shenanigans. I dunno if we'll buy it though, it needs a lot of work.

It's doable! See how it goes anyways! :)

My heart is broke with this 900 now :(

I like old, British and slow, whereas my friend likes the likes of the Saab, rare and complex. Finding a car we both like is proving to be a challenge :P

Heartbreak has become a common occurrence with classics tbh. You eventually get used to it :p

Is the colour on that golf an aftermarket job, or did the mk4 come with that colour as an option? Don't think I ever seen one in that colour before........

I've seen in a few in that colour, or very close to it. GTi's mainly.

Looks a factory colour - one of the Uk mags had a 1.6 petrol testing in a group test againsed the Focus, Astra and others - in that colour.

also had a Mk 4 brochure in my paw at one point and there was a trendline or a comfortline in it - with that colour.

The other highlight from said brochure was how silly you could make the price of a 64 bhp SDI go if you started specing up toys

Can't remember why I had it in my hand though - I certainly don't remember walking up and getting it at a VW dealers
