    The Treaty for the document
    What are your topics though?

Dictatorship and democracy, Northern Ireland and the US. What do you recommend?

Hi everyone, didn't see this thread. I haven't done pretty much any revision up to this point. What would you recommend I try to cram in this amount of time? Also what is everyone predicting for the document question? Thanks!

I think everyone's predicting the treaty for the dbq but it's too risky to call so I'm skimming over blitz and congress just in case! With it narrowed down I'm still learning 20 essays, lbj, Vietnam, Cold War and CRM for US, 3 hitler essays, mussolini internal and external policies and Lenin and Stalin separately which I can combine if they show up together! For NI I'm hoping Maggie comes up but studying Coleraine, O'neill, nicra and the path towards peace essay (sunninhdal, Anglo-Ire agreement 1985 and Downing Street declaration 93).. Hope this helps and you're doing the same sections as I am!

Hi , I was just wondering how long should an essay be? because im not really sure :/..

Depends on your writing really. I've got small enough writing and 4 pages is usually more than enough for me.

Lenin and stalin are almost definites for dictatorship and democracy, there will always be a communism in russia question in the exam, coleraine and the fall of stormont is looking likely for northern ireland, Montgomery and vietnam are likely for US, and Detente

if mussolini's internal and external policies came up i would start breakdancing in the exam hall

This is great, thanks. Currently doing Montgomery/MLK. What kind of question do you expect for Russia?

Lenin on his own maybe, or it might ask for lenin and stalins contribution to communism in russia

Can i ask , What did you put in for Mussolini's internal and external policies?

I began with the discontented state of Italy after ww1 and reasons why, ending with Mussolinis emergence in the intro, 1st paragraph: changing of socialist programme to gain popularity, increasing numbers of members, crushing socialist strikes of 1922 etc.
2nd: the march on Rome piece (very short paragraph)
3rd: acerbo law, blackshirts militia, Fiume from Yugoslavia win and 65% win in election
4th: matteoti controversy, OVRA, Il Duce, Education/Ballila etc
5th: Church state relations, corporations, (I also have an essay done on church state relations by itself with him and hitler)
6th: protectionism, autarky, battles, emphasis on Italy's self sufficiency
7th: foreign policy up until Kellogg Briand pact
8th: run in with hitler over Anschluss being formed and formation of stresa front as a result , Abyssinia and link with hitler follows
9th: Abyssinia, now allied with hitler, anti Comintern pact and helping Franco etc, pact of steel, charter race at home
10th: conclusion, fatal mistakes beaten in Libya Egypt and Greece, imprisonment, fail to control church not as totalitarian as hitler , corporate state was a failure also, only legacy was the Lateran agreements

My paragraphs are very short so some could go together as one!

with mussolini you need to stress that he wanted prestige and power

Could Lenin by himself come up? I feel like I wouldn't have enough on him alone to answer..

He could but it's unlikely, my teacher thinks he'll be up with Stalin!

I don't really mind what case study comes up, but what I'm hoping for in the essay section is,
    -Colraigne for Northern Ireland
-propaganda or church-state relations for dictatorship and democracy
-economy or racial conflict for USA

Does anyone think this is a possible prediction?

I want to know if I'm safe studying the following topics for History on wednesday:

European: Stalin's use of propaganda & terror , Both Stalin & Mussolini's internal and external polices, Nazi propaganda& holocaust, Jarrow March

US- Vietnam, Moon landings, Civil rights and Social Problems

The avg mark in higher level is lik 90/ 100 so yeah it will definitely improve your grade!

My friend answered two 100 mark questions completely wrong last year and still managed a C!

What's the best way to time questions for the exam? My teacher said give 50 minutes to the document question but I don't know, its worth the same as the essays so I don't see why it should get more time than them.

  • Registered Users Posts: 221 ✭✭ejayy

    42 minutes for document
