Silcocks base vs Emulsifying Ointment

    Does anybody know the difference between Silcocks base and Emulsifying Ointment please?

    silcocks is greasier/fattier - and can be used as a soap substitute - because its greasier though - more likely to stain clothes etc if you put clothes on immediately after application

    I have used Emulsifying Ointment as a soap substitute for years. I am not sure about Silcocks base.

    For dry skin issues, I found silcocks base good as a shower gel/clenser, emulsifying ointment better as a moisturiser. BUT emulsifying ointment stung if I had an eczema flare up.
