I haven't been able to figure out how to reply to his comment

OK I tried to reply to the comment but as I haven't purchased off Amazon it won't let me. If any good soul could leave a message for Pete Wakefield it would be appreciated :)

Tesco never bothered replying either. And the ebay seller doesn't have the bear either.

Try Tesco Twitter account - they seem really helpful as a customer service team.

Heres a similar bear without the apron and bit browner. Could you say he lost the apron when swimming at the beach and got a decent tan on holidays?

We tried that trick. Showed her the picture and she said "is that Ted's brother, I miss my Ted"

4 year olds are smart little buggers

What if your daughter hid him and this is an elaborate practical joke on her behalf.

Haha.... it would be something a 4 year old would do too...

Did you put an ad on Adverts? Or the Parenting forum here?
My grandson lost his blankie yesterday and I put an ad up straight away. A lady answered and has the same one in white which we'll try with him. It just might work!!
People are very good when it comes to teddys and blankies.

    Hi Chucken,

I did put an ad on Adverts but no luck as yet. I've showed her similar bears but she just says it ain't her Ted

I remember losing my Teddy as a kid. I had it since I was 3 and called it Teddy. I was so awesome, it had a zipped pocket on one side and buttoned pocket on the other. I would keep a few coins in the zipped pocket for ice cream, Ah to be a kid again...

Any luck OP? I'm just after arriving back in Taiwan after a two-week holiday in Edinburgh and kept an eye out for a Yummy Mummy teddy there (no luck I'm afraid). I even dug through all the fluffy toy bins in the (many) charity shops I visited on the off-chance of finding one there. Again, no luck.

    **UPDATE**

After 3 months, numerous stories to my daughter to stop the tears, emails to Tesco and Ray DArcy, searching ebay and amazon, boardsies searching their homes and shops to find Ted Teddington.

The search has ended....Ted Teddington is coming home

A kind lady on Adverts has Ted (or a replica) and is sending him to my daughter

A big thanks to all who replied, made suggestions, looked and searched online.

Despite all the badness in the world there are still genuine people in the world...

Lovely! Tell her the story when she's older, just to show her how far a little bit of kindness can go :)

It's not the real Ted Teddington though. Sure, it'll look the same, feel the same. Your daughter may even believe it's him for awhile, but soon she'll see the dead look in his eyes, the different texture of his smooth teddy bear skin. She'll long for the real Ted Teddington, the one who made everything okay, "where are you Ted Teddington" she will cry. But the real Ted Teddington is no where to be seen.

Nonsene! Of course Ted looks and feels a bit different - he's had some wonderful adventures, travelled the world and met lots of interesting people. All of that has changed him a little, but he is still Ted. Im sure Roxy will explain that to her little one.
