    I did 15 honours subjects. I got 1500 points.

    I was so busy studying I forgot to return my CAO form though.

    It's not about the points, it's about where you rank on a percentile curve based on points achieved. 80th percentile reporting in :cool:

    Currently working on a postdoc in Maths, I am applying for a teaching position which requires me to confirm on the application form that I achieved at least a 'C' in Junior Cert Mathematics, and there is a note at the bottom of the page to say that documentary proof may be required.
    I have no documentary proof :-/ If it weren't for the money, it would be amusing to be turned down for the position on "mathematical" grounds.

    And to think they said the JC would never matter...

    In my day the maximum was 32 points (mid 80s)

    A=5 (Maths +2)
    B=4 (Maths +1)
    C=3 (Maths+1)
    D=2

    We could also sit the NUI Matric exam and mix and match for points (no bonus points for Matric Maths).

    Sound crazy but Medicine was about 25/26 points (500/520 in today's money)

    I got a solid 21 points

    How did it affect your life?

    It allowed me gain entry to my chosen course in university. Since then it has had zero impact.

    How did it affect your life?

    The points I got got me into a course that I thought I wanted to do. I was wrong, but I changed course and stayed in the college, did a few extra-curricular things, and found the person who I married last year.

    Actually Vito what course did you end up studying? Don't think I ever found out what most of the leaving cert forum regulars went on to study because I didn't read anything following the results that morning.

    570.

    I have a freakishly good long-term memory, which was probably my saving grace seeing as I spent half my time daydreaming.
