If this goes 12 rounds Groves wins, the question is does he have the stamina and discipline to keep it up for the full 12? I think he will but would not be surprised with a late Froch stoppage.

Groves on points for me though.

My heart says Froch by late KO but my head says Groves by points or even late stoppage-catching Froch repeatedly as he tries to go for a last gasp late stoppage.

I believe the outcome depends on Groves' gameplan. My verdict: Froch by KO

If Groves boxes the same way as last time and has trained hard to improve his stamina, he wins this on points. No question.

My worry for groves is that he will lose his head. I fear that he wont be as cool and clever as last time. I worry he will come out like a lunatic, throw the game plan out the window and get knocked out. I hope not, but It wouldn't surprise me.

They both seem "emotionally" invested in this more so than any of their previous fights (as far as I can remember) Even with both pulling each other at the "handshake" shows they are both up for it & close to losing their cools? So maybe the best laid game plans go out the window in the heat of the moment....I reckon that would favour Froch!

Froch needs a KO to win unless there is dodgy judges.Doesn't have the reflexes or footspeed to stop Groves from landing often.

If it goes the distance Groves wins easily enough imho, and if Groves could stick to a game plan of trying to out box Carl and out point him I think thats how it would happen, but I dont think he will, I think he wants to knock him out too much, will be too eager to trade punches and will end up eating the canvas

Anyone think that this could be the fight where Carl grows old? It wouldn't at all surprise me to see him take a bit of a beating.

I always worry for a boxer who has been driven and determined their whole career and then when presented with an 8million fight, then they start talking about retirement.

I'm not convinced that Groves can stay out of brawl with Froch, particularly because of the knockdown last time round, but also because of the handspeed advantage. The temptation to throw the third or fourth shot is always going to be there and that gives Froch his window of opportunity.

Unlike Ward, Groves hasn't shown he has the ability to smother Froch after he gets off, nor that he's sharp enough on his feet to slip back out of range after he lands. Froch is dangerous at that mid-range and anyone who trades with him at that distance is likely to come out on the losing side.

Unless Groves can get Froch out of there early, which is a long shot, then he's going to have to fight a very disciplined fight to get to the finish line. Maybe Froch is shopworn, and maybe he is there for the taking, but if you take that chance and find out by the 10th round that you're wrong then you're in very deep trouble.

    .

Good point. Although George is slippy he is not as schooled/relaxed as Ward. I noticed that neither Froch or Groves have a natural inside game. They look sloppy and awkward on the inside. George's defense is more duck and dive and hope for the best.

I would have loved to see the oldies like Toney and Jones face Froch!

Just read that Groves vetoed a Polish judge because Froch is of Polish ancestry. Groves has just become a serious annoyance now.

I think it's all part of Groves plan to rile Froch as much as he possibly can.

Really? if Groves was adamant of the fight not going the distance, he wouldn't care who the judges are and not veto any of them.

It's about getting into Frochs head, to me he is looking to frustrate Froch even before he steps in the ring.

Don't say that!!! Groves has been such a d!ck that I really hope Froch emphatically ends it this time. I'd be interested to see if Groves has a humble side if that was to be the result!

Froch has been more of a tosser about this from the get go. I hope Groves does the business, he's a lovely boxer and I've been following him since a good bit before he beat De Gale.

Yep, he is nice to watch. Lovely style

They are both tossers but I think Groves is a little troll.I hope he gets beaten after ''a bit of pull and a push''.
If Darren Sutherland was still with us he would KO them both.

That crossed my mind too. The guy seems to have too much to say. It shouldn't be tolerated. Stick to training and boxing. Leave the rules and regulations and promotion to others. Not happy after this? tuff!

well the ref stopped the fight to early and one of the judges had him just 1 round up at that point. now what was this judge watching??? I think groves has the right to have a little say in the matter.

He has a right to be concerned and inquisitive, as does Carl! He's OTT. Shut up and fight. He's as bad as Floyd for the demands and histrionics. One point up? So what. He was still up, wasn't he. Be different if the judge had him a couple of points down. There were a couple of tight rds that could have swung the cards.

It's probably bigger due to the internet and social media and all the craze and developments since the last '80s and early '90s. Aa regards merit and real boxing hype I believe it's second rate compared to Benn-Eubank. Both Benn and Eubank brought something that hype cannot create or buy. A natural charsima and spark.

Has a time for the match been set yet?

    Edit:
Sky have a poll running at the moment

    Who will win the rematch?

    Froch 53%
    Groves 46%
    Draw 1%

Think I saw two judges had him only up by a round and the other one was quite close too.

I think Eubanks - Benn - Collins were bigger. Sky ppv hasn't helped boxings popularity imo
