It appears that my Bora has a LHD electric mirror controller thing. I wonder if it would be worth it to get a proper one... I mean it still works fine.

eBay or a scrap yard would have them cheap enough if it bothered you enough to get it.

Ive changed the front drivers caliper nearest the master cylinder, do i have to bleed all four calipers or will the front right alone do?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,718 ✭✭✭Hal1

If the brake hose was clamped before removing it will be fine. If the pedal feels spongey after though I would bleed them.

I didnt clamp them as the hoses arent very malleable and i didnt want to damage them. I know ill have to bleed the front right most probably and replace the fluid that was still in the old seized caliper, ill do that and see if pedal is spongey

If brake fluid is 2 years or older it's quite a good moment to replace it by the way. :)

Fire away if you want to look like a sad tool:pac:

I'm just tempted with the amount of idiots I've come across lately.

Cutting me up for no reason with kids jumping around the back of the car, idiots not keeping left when your want to over take and their just sitting there driving slowly. .. plenty now too

They will all need to be bled so. If air got into the system it needs to be got rid of. I would recommend using the gunson eazybleed kit. So easy to do the job then. Just walking around to each bleed valve with you're 8/9mm spanner and tube in container. Buy some brake fluid and keep the master topped up. Job done in about 10 minutes.

The incredible **** storm you will unleash upon yourself when the Gards see it though will outlive any slight advantage you'd get from having it.

thats very true too. the legal part is they have to see it operating on a public road.

i remember a story once of a guy in dublin city who was fascinated by being a guard (he never was one or will be) that he bought a ford mondeo and actually got all the wraps and light bars to match a garda car exactly but it was a personal car.

it took a very long time but eventually he got caught after being in the pub having a few pints then trying to drive home !

I bought one of these in the past expecting it to be a piece of ****. But it works suprisingly well. Pair you phone using bluetooth and it plays your music and calls over your stereo using FM. Means no cables to worry about and auto pairs every time you get in the car.

My FM doesn't work! No idea why. It never worked since I got the car, not that I listen to the radio anyway.

Could be, I'm not too pushed on it anyway, never use the thing. Might look at it tomorrow.

    Hi All,

I am thinking of changing my Focus to a Smart Roadster for the summer.
While I know that the 0.7 engine needs an overhaul at around the 60k mark, does anyone have a personal experience of these cars?

For instance, I will mainly use it around Dublin but would it be mad to drive down to Cork/Kerry with it every 1 to 2 months or so?

Here is the one I am considering:
