Had a little spirited run against a tidy 2000 Punto 1.8Hgt through a series of (private) roundabouts and and the Ignis didnt let me down despite the power advantage in his favour :)

I keep seeing Marlow and his TDI van now that I live in Athlone. It looks good too. It must have got a respray as it's a 92 and looks brand new.

No, I dont know too much about 80s cars or Rally heritage, wasnt until the 90s I began to like cars.

Keep at it, if it comes to it wait till then, then get your own policy on it, happy days, it took me ages, and a lot of heartache to get my saab, but I've wanted a saab since I was a wee pickle, before i even knew what they were called, and now I have one, but it's been a complete battle with everything, but it's worth it in the end

    don't give up

Oh my god I only realised I seen him a million times when in college

Him and the dog in the van, am I right or totally wrong Marlow?

Work said after Im finished training next Jan Ill be in America a lot of the time from then on so my plans for a diesel kinda went out the window. An Accord was what I was looking to get but weighing up costs, ill save almost 1k on tax and insurance getting one of the above instead, offsetting any fuel savings. When I come back home too Id like something fun and small to hop into and easily modded.

That 150bhp 207 looks cool. Looks like a fairly normal 207 but I'd say it would move considering it can't weigh a whole. You'd get a lot of confused people following you going through roundabouts etc woundering why they couldn't keep up with a 207 :)

Oh I'm not going to give up on it, I'm definitely going to get one in November.

I just don't want to spend much more time in a tiny Yaris with no power, no A/C and no room. Stupid insurance. Mind you, I can get quotes off of 123.ie.

Ardennes, the Colt still has my vote.

    +2 on the colt.

I never seen the dog. He has tinted windows so maybe the dog was there but I just didn't see it. He also has long hair. Total oposite to me with a shaved head but I decided to let it grow, not long just a small bit.

I'm looking at replacing a seal on the car, where the gearbox meets the engine, apparently that seal has gave way and theres a bit of a leak there, 600 quid to get it done, the seal itself is 20 euro or there abouts, I'm running through what has to be done and to be honest, I'm rather daunted by the whole thing :/

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,308 ✭✭✭✭wotzgoingon

and to be honest, I'm rather daunted by the whole thing :/

    Fúck that's expensive.
I would be too. I wouldn't even know where to start if I had to do that to my car. I would have to go to mechanic, but €600 damn, you should price around and see if you can get a better quote if you are not going to do it yourself.

Its essentially a sump drop, coupled with taking the driveshafts, and subframe out, then getting the engine supported with an engine crane and getting the gearbox out....I think, 600 is the cheapest i got
