I thought it was "more meaningless populist drivel" from Sinn Fein?

There's plenty of it to go around.

Just tell everyone that you'll fix all their problems but don't tell them how and you're quids in :)

Or you can go the FG route... "we won't fix any of your problems... in fact, here, have a few more."

You just hate reality don't you?

Keep lapping up the steaming pile of ****e that the Independents,FF and SF will never actually have to implement because once they ever get a chance to get into power the crisis will be long over.

    FGs way.

where does his vat issue actually stand now, legally?

The amount owed comes to just over €2.1m. He's paying half of his Dail salary to Revenue so hopefully he'll live a long and productive life and we'll get our money back eventually.

You should dress to suit your professional environment. Scruffy dress down Friday just isn't appropriate attire for someone who is supposedly representing their constituents. I find it insulting.

So, His Mickness has launched a new political party - the Independents for equality Movement. Equality for who exactly, and anyone know what their party manifesto consists of?

    Gay marriage?

I'd find it more insulting to be judged on my choice of clothing.

What about blind people? They don't have these silly hangups.

More meaningless populist drivel from the Independents.

Why not call it the "Party for Taxing The Evil Riches and Giving Everyone Else Their Money"?

Sssh, speaking ill of the Magic Money Tree is frowned upon round these parts...

How is it a silly hangup to expect a person to dress appropriately for the job they're employed to do? Normal attire for the Dail is a suit. Dressing like a scruff and making a statement that you are doing so in order to more accurately reflect the people you represent is insulting. It's farcical.

Populism seems to involve completely ignoring the fact we had to spend 987 million last month borrowing money so we could keep running the country. And that is with the cuts. But Mick, Ming and the Independents have somehow came up with another completely new way of solving this! I'm with Mick.

Scruffy git. Who the Hell votes for these guys? The arrogance of the guy going into the Dail dressed like a scruffy git and to add insult to injury he claims that dressing that way is representative of the people of this country. Why not just get a tracksuit and wander around with his hands down the front in that case. Absolute tool.

Would you prefer Bertie Ahern and he s fine big back pocket for 'donations'?

Isn't an independent party an oxymoron?

Well Mick will certainly meet the moron criteria.

they were company VAT issues, not Micks so no impact.

    Were they indeed?

The mans a disgrace. A failed developer who held no regard for decent tax payers of this country. It astounds me he is still in the dail.

He appears to have done a complete about turn since he was making millions from building and selling houses at huge mark up to people who could ill afford it.

I despair for this country that people are sucked in by his rubbish. IM no fan of the main parties either but this man should not even be in the dail after what he has done in my opinion. I sincerely hope people come to their senses and see this man and his cronies for what they are. In an attempt to stick it to the main parties we may make things worse.

If your main concern is how a member of government is dressed, it's worrying.

He could wear a black bin liner for all I care, how the country is governed is what's important.

    Boohoo, Jesus wept.

Why buy when you cannot afford? That's their own stupidity.

Somebody in the dail made a few bob, in what is now a taboo area.

No complaining here about him being a developer. By all accounts he built some of the better stuff around Dublin - worthwhile developments not just tiny apartments. The tax issues are as problem though.
