So, His Mickness has launched a new political party - the Independents for equality Movement. Equality for who exactly, and anyone know what their party manifesto consists of?

Scruffy git. Who the Hell votes for these guys? The arrogance of the guy going into the Dail dressed like a scruffy git and to add insult to injury he claims that dressing that way is representative of the people of this country. Why not just get a tracksuit and wander around with his hands down the front in that case. Absolute tool.

Mick is to political ideology what McDonalds is to fine dining. He's a sad indictment of our electorate. An arrogant fool.

Isn't an independent party an oxymoron?

I like Wallace but it's pretty sick that he not only couldn't pay his taxes but if I remember right purposely defrauded the taxman and vat man. If I did that, I would do jail time.
He shouldn't be in the dial.

Scruffy git. Who the Hell votes for these guys? .

125000 so far, probably 145000 voted for Ming. So obviously there's a substantial chunk of the population who don't judge politicians on their clothes.

where does his vat issue actually stand now, legally?

What does Mick Wallace represent? He appears to have become a socialist. Even a quick reading about his history puts him down as a Celtic Tiger gobdaw. Less engaged posters seem to mistake bluster and outrage as somehow being a valid politics. I'd love to know how Mick feels himself and his bunch of latchicos intend to get rid of the need to borrow 900 million a month to keep the country running. Without cutting anything.

More meaningless populist drivel from the Independents.

Why not call it the "Party for Taxing The Evil Riches and Giving Everyone Else Their Money"?

The Bitch About Those In Power Because We Will Never Have To Do Anything Ourselves (but we get paid handsomely nonetheless) Party.

Throw electing Ming to represent us in Europe into the mix and its a sad day to have to admit to being Irish.

You just hate reality don't you?

Keep lapping up the steaming pile of ****e that the Independents,FF and SF will never actually have to implement because once they ever get a chance to get into power the crisis will be long over.

The amount owed comes to just over €2.1m. He's paying half of his Dail salary to Revenue so hopefully he'll live a long and productive life and we'll get our money back eventually.

You should dress to suit your professional environment. Scruffy dress down Friday just isn't appropriate attire for someone who is supposedly representing their constituents. I find it insulting.

I'd find it more insulting to be judged on my choice of clothing.

What about blind people? They don't have these silly hangups.

How is it a silly hangup to expect a person to dress appropriately for the job they're employed to do? Normal attire for the Dail is a suit. Dressing like a scruff and making a statement that you are doing so in order to more accurately reflect the people you represent is insulting. It's farcical.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,280 ✭✭✭Davarus Walrus

Populism seems to involve completely ignoring the fact we had to spend 987 million last month borrowing money so we could keep running the country. And that is with the cuts. But Mick, Ming and the Independents have somehow came up with another completely new way of solving this! I'm with Mick.
