question about office chars that provide good back and neck support

hi guys
mods, IM not sure if this in the right thread, feel free to move!
My office chair does not provide good support and my neck is suffering as a result of slouching in front of my laptop all day.
I want to get a decent office chair which will provide good back and neck support. In fact I need two of them, one for my work office and one from my home office. Unfortunately I dont think I can afford one of the specialist chairs, my guess is that these chairs would cost a fortune and Im hoping to pay 100 - 300e a chair.
Any suggestions on types of office chairs in this budget that provide good support for the back and neck in Limerick, where I live, or indeed online?

Are you sure you don't need to reassess your monitor height?

not sure if its and option for you in work but try and stand as much as possible during the day. Any raised areas where you could use your laptop?

Would this be an option for you at home? Standing in a good posture is much better for us than sitting.

Has your desk and chair being ergonomically assessed? If you an employee I'm nearly sure employer has a duty of care to ensure your workstation is OK from and health and safety perspective.

Laptops aren't meant for all-day use. You can buy a 'laptop riser' which will raise your laptop so that you don't slouch.

Getting an external monitor could be a bit pricy, but a keyboard and mouse are cheap enough. If you can't afford a monitor, get the keyboard and mouse, and put the laptop on some kind of box so it's closer to your eye level.

Raising the height of your laptop will help . Could you consider a standing desk.... a reasonably priced version is available on http://www.fitpluswell.ie/product/varidesk/

Standing while working takes a while to get used to, but I find it has been great for my back. My boss paid for half.

I agree with the comments above. you could have the world's greatest chair and still sit in a curved hunch. Get your screen up to eye level. Use old phone books if you have to and exercise your core so you can sit up straight. Even with that you won't be able to to that all day so as Bob marley said, get up, stand up.
