I found out we signed Andy Cole when I got home from school reading Teletext.

    I came for first time.

This time last year, nobody would have been surprised to see Evra go, or would have expected Vidic to leave. One year on, it looks like we've done things arseways.

Trying to resist being pessimistic but there's a sense of déjà vu already.

Konoplyanka on whether he'd leave for Man Utd or stay at Dnipro should the choice arrive: "I'd most probably stay at Dnipro.

He wants to join Liverpool. Smart move if Liverpool are still interested

Reading between the lines of that quote - "I'm planning on having a great tournament, so I can milk as much as possible from United afterwards."

Shaw is only 18,Evra staying will be great for him and the club. We have lost a lot of experience recently so Evra will be needed next year.

He could have gone like Vidic but chose to stay and fight on for the club.

Fight for the club? Ha. We'll more than likely get the same pathetic and insipid displays from him again next season.

He'll talk the talk but not bother even standing up to attempt the walk.

Pity Macheda never worked out at United. Still, won't ever forget him for this moment. What a strike

So Evra gives us another year of **** defending because of his PASSION.

Are the type of display put in by Evra in recent times really that beneficial for a new LB?

Wouldn't have thought they'd be in the role model class tbh

Maybe Van Gaal will change him to a winger...with a bit of luck

In fairness there has been an contract on the table for him since he played a certain amount of games this year. It was up to him himself and he probably wasn't offered a better deal anywhere else.

If anybody can't see the invaluable experience Evra would offer a new full back then they haven't a clue what they're talking about.

Maybe we could use himself and some others as a way of training for the new recruits? Here's how we don't do it at Manchester United!

We'll employ him as a left back coach then and he can show clips of himself from 5 years ago when he was the best in the world. That way he can focus all his experience on Buttner and Shaw.

Cause nothing he does on the pitch nowadays is worth knowing.

Ah come on. You're better than that. The guy is a leader and could offer any young full back great experience. He's the type of guy you try to keep at the club and hopefully he's offered a coaching role when he's done. Evra's demise has been vastly overrated. He's no longer a reliable option as the first choice but he'd be an excellent back up.

    He's a fu*king legend too.

Exactly, with vidic and Ferdinand gone the last thing we needed was Evra going too, can't believe the slating he's getting on here, club legend and hopefully he stays for many years to come Evra's passion is exactly what we need.

Evras demise has not been over estimated. On the contrary it's a mystery that he managed to be picked for so many games over the last three seasons.

A total liability to the team who gave up the ghost when it comes to defending a long time ago.

If it's true that Fabregas is available this summer, would ye be confident that he'd pick ye over Arsenal?
Understandably ye'd be viewed a the bigger club but could be one of those players who the whole no Europe thing deters away from signing. He could be keen on an Arsenal reunion depending on what he's looking for.

Will add serious strength to the starting 11 of whichever team he ends up at

    Lads,

Will you all calm down about the Evra extension. If hes not performing do you honestly think LVG will give him a 1st team jersey. Not a chance. I reckon Giggs advised him that it would be of benefit to have him there for his experience and knowledge especially for Luke Shaw:D. The transfer window hasn't even open yet and people are already getting their knickers in a twist. The time to panic is Aug 31st if we have not signed the players we need to fix the obvious problems in midfield and defence.
