I never said any of the candidates murdered a child. I merely stated that Shinnerbots would vote for one if the Shinners put them up.

I believe the term "Shinnerbots" is frowned on around here by mods, something to do with displaying a complete lack of debating skills.

Anyway, you can't state anyone would vote for anyone that murdered a child with any certainty, can you?

That is only one big assumption on your part.

    I can't help feeling we've met before. Re-reg yeah?

You know, there are times when I find myself listening to Mary Lou and agreeing. Nodding my head to some of the various points she makes.

There are times I find myself listening to Pierce and agreeing. Nodding my head to some of the various points he makes.

Then Sinn Fein go and do something like this and I am literally

So doing your best at your job and getting it wrong is worse than deliberately murdering children, due to maths?

    Ok.
You honestly think FF and FG have "done their best"? No golden circle boys club at work? No late night phone calls from AIB ordering the government what to do?
You really are the hook, line and sinker type aren't you.

Just as a matter of interest, do you Shinnerbots coordinate who is on PR duty, or is it very much an ad-hoc thing?
And do you get all your lines from the "I love sucking up to the man for dummies"?

That's a fairly weak comeback. You can do better.

LOL! Get this lads! We have one who actually believes FF and FG were "trying their best." Nothing underhand at all. No backroom deals. Nothing.
    GUFFAW!
There's a FF voter born every minute, eh!

Can you quote for us where anybody from Sinn Fein has said they "support his child murders".
    I'll put the kettle on.
Here's what Adams had to say about the bombing in which the boys were murdered:
Sinn Féin vice-president Gerry Adams said of Mountbatten's death:

The IRA gave clear reasons for the execution. I think it is unfortunate that anyone has to be killed, but the furor created by Mountbatten's death showed up the hypocritical attitude of the media establishment. As a member of the House of Lords, Mountbatten was an emotional figure in both British and Irish politics. What the IRA did to him is what Mountbatten had been doing all his life to other people; and with his war record I don't think he could have objected to dying in what was clearly a war situation. He knew the danger involved in coming to this country. In my opinion, the IRA achieved its objective: people started paying attention to what was happening in Ireland.

    He sounds pretty remorseful alright...

    You are an acknowledged Shinnerbot.

I have no party affiliation. I won't even be voting tomorrow, so I suppose I'm worse than you in a way, but at least I won't be pinning my hopes to the magical money tree.

Dead right. Fianna Failure destroying the economy was in the past, but some bastards still hold that against them.

I believe the term "Shinnerbots" is frowned on around here by mods,

It's a new one on me I must confess. It has me with images of a mechanical Gerry Adams or Martin McGuinness. "Exterminate, Exterminate";)

Anyway, my two cents on the topic at hand. There does seem to me to be a lot of contrived outrage at play here. I say that not as a Sinn Fein supporter. I have no problem condemning the murder of Mountbatten, (or the "innocents" on the boat with him, obviously) or their many other atrocities, likewise the many loyalist murders, bloody Sunday, etc, etc, etc. It was all wrong, it was all horrible. Of course everybody has their own view on what caused it, and thats fine. As someone who grew up a hundred miles down the road I've never been too comfortable with being too dogmatic about it. If I had been growing up in Belfast, not Dublin, in the 1970's I may have seen things very differently. As has been said earlier, for years people were demanding of Sinn Fein, that they abandon violence and embrace the political process, and when they do that's still not acceptable. At some point however we really do have to put the past behind us. How long shoud it take ? 20 years (obviously not, judging by this thread) 50, 60 ? When Adams and McGuinnes and every last one of that generation die ? Is that really what it will take ?

One last thought: Perhaps someone might provide a list of activities which it would be acceptable for this man to engage in?

They probably do, but at least the majority of these bastards as you call them got out, exercised their rights and voted FF out of government..

History is important, because how else do you learn not to make the same mistakes again?

It is important history is not forgotten, but hanging on to hatred for actions taken in the past only breeds more hatred...

    That's right!

I thought that by changing the government, our giant budget deficit would disappear overnight, along with the national debt!

It didn't, and now I'm disillusioned with politics. :(

    You are an acknowledged Shinnerbot.
With your evidence and logic free "because I said so" attitude you're really winning over the neutrals here I'd say.

    So you aren't a Shinnerbot?

Odd that there isn't a single thread where the opportunity comes up that you aren't cheering for Sinn Fein and rubbishing everyone else. Insulting our intelligence won't win over neutrals either Dan.

Odd you could reach that conclusion in only 22days here, max:confused:

Shinnerbot tactic number 1: if you can't refute the point, attack the poster personally.

Well, respect for admitting that you are indeed a Shinnerbot.

I'm not voting because there isn't a single decent candidate in my constituency.

Shinnerbot doesn't like Shinnerbot label. Shock.

Yet supporters of other parties are supposed to tolerate Shinnerbot abuse. Double standard?

Firstly, referring to a poster as a "Shinnerbot" is in itself "attacking a poster"

Secondly, how can me making an observation that you joined the site in may14 (22 days ago max) be classed as personally attacking You? (it's right there on your username)
