For anyone who got one of the 32" Blaupunkt TVs - have you had difficulty attaching the base? The screws I got don't seem to be the right size.

Mine was fine. The small ones for the telly. There was more resistance with the larger ones on the bottom of the base but they screwed in fine with the screwdriver.

The small ones are fine, it's the longer ones for the base. They seem like they're too big. I can't screw them in at all!

I'll give it another go, I'm just reluctant in case I damage it.

There was a lot more resistance on the larger screws compared to the smaller ones. I got the impression that i was screwing them into a hole that was too narrow.

nice one, and they actually gave you back € 16.20 ?
so you made a profit on it ?

The small ones are going into pre cut threads whereas the bigger ones have deeper threads to cut their own threads into the plastic and hence greater resistance.

Meant to post earlier that I bought 1 of these Blaupunkt tv's yesterday evening in Kildare and there were still 4 on the shelf.

I bought 6 packs of them so I got €97 euro back €48 over charged and double that they weren't a bit pleased and it took about half an hour to sort it out but the shelf price was €15 they whipped the price off it quick enough after paying me and the website is now showing €23.10 for 12 cans

I thought they stopped the whole 'double the difference' thing ages ago?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,626 ✭✭✭wmpdd3

No its still valid but some store just decided not to do it, just ring customer service if you have an issue and they should sort it.

    Genius.

16.20-15.00 times 6 = €7.20 profit (and all that free Guinness)
Someone's in for a good weekend!

Everyone forgets that the original price paid includes the overcharge

    Casio was charged €23.10 x 6 = €138 60

    should have been charged €15 x 6 = €90
    Difference = €48.60
    Double the difference €97.20

The cost of the Guinness was €138.60 - €97.20

    cost € 41.40
    still a great deal

Good few of the Blaupunkt 32" TV's left in Drogheda for 199 yoyos. Bought one today for the young lads room, mainly for gaming, very impressed for the money, all stations came in, inc the BBc and ITV's etc but that may be our location ? ? He loves it , after having a 23" so that means its a bargain as far as I am concerned.

Funny little 4 packs of 250ml bottles of Pepsi, Pepsi Max, 7-Up and a few others- probably aimed at the UK market and accidentally shipped over here, being sold @ 1.49 for a 4 pack. Its on the 1.49 aisle in Tesco Maynooth. Presumably it'll be on the 1.49 aisle in other stores too.

They have both the sugar free, the max and regular Pepsi on this offer. Mmmmm 24grms sugar per 100ml......... Sugar..........

The €1.49 aisle? I thought I was a pro at Tesco bargain hunting, never noticed a €1.49 aisle . Do all store have one of these?

I don't think all stores do. Tesco Clarehall has one with a mixture of everything from really crap make-up to toilet cleaners. I've never really seen a bargain there tbh.

Occasionally weird hand cleaners, and packet sizes that we don't get here- turn up on the aisle. It gets annoying when there is a price flash of £1 sterling on most of the stuff- yet we get charged 1.49......... World's worst exchange rate.......

Most of the time when I'm shopping in tesco I have my phone out using the calculator to work out which is cheaper per litre.

More often than not you will find the family size is actually more expensive, its a disgrace Joe :pac:

Tesco Kilbarrack were selling off bottles of Woolite Extra Colour care (liquid detergent) 1.5l for €2. They're normally about €8.99 as far as I know. They're in a box near the front door if anyone looking.

Probably August bank holiday will be next one, unless their market share drops even more and it might be put on sooner but haven't heard anything for June B.H.... That's just my guess...
