Has he apologised in any way? No he hasnt. Therefore he is unrepentant.

He has never apologised to any of the victims families. A blanket "jeez, we're awful sorry about all that murdering and stuff" just doesn't cut it. A repentant would apologise himself. In person. The only thing he is sorry about is that he got caught.

Feel free to start your own thread about the wonders of the cuban health system. It is not relevant here.

I was responding to your mention of Cuba which you up followed with further reference to Cuba in later posts so it's a bit rich you complaining about it now.

I am happy to stop discussing Cuba - are you?

    Who says he is unrepentant?

Has he ever issued any statement of apology or engaged with any of the families of the two children he murdered to show his remorse??

    No - ergo unrepentant.

The organisation he was in has issued a full apology.
Do we need every soldier to apologise individually after a war? I've never seen it done before in history.

I'm actually the opposite to most here. I'd have considered voting Sinn Fein as they are certainly no worse than the other mobs on govt these days, and I'm happy to look forward, but having that psycho canvassing sticks in my craw. I'd not vote for them now.

So he was a soldier then?? Well I guess he should be up in the Hague for war crimes for directly targeting and murdering civilians.

And yes he should aplogise for murdering children, he has been given multiple chances by the families of the victims and has directly refused.

In a thread of ridiculous hysteria that stands out, I'll give you that.
All soldiers should apologise to their victims... I must propose that at the next UN convention.

As much any as soldier as the US Army, North Viernamese army, Russian army.
I don't think any of those have technically been in a war since 1945.

Less of the trying to move away from the topic, we are not discussing any of the things you mentioned above.

He was not a soldier, he IS a child murderer

You have made no case at all that he wasn't a soldier in a war.
In fact, you found it so preposterous you didn't even attempt to.

US, Vietnam and Russia are all countries.

Ireland has it's own army too so where does this guy fit in.

This is more important to me than anybody murdered, yes even children. I don't place more value on one human life than another.
If there was a SF with no IRA connections I'd be much happier, but if the choice is some murders 35 years ago or many deaths right now, I've already made my choice.

Answerable to the head of the IRA, whoever that might have been.

Well do you think that what happened in Sligo was a legitimate operation by the IRA or do you think it was mass murder??

It was either one or the other.

You appear to be judging me by your own standards. No mention or threat of violence from me at all.

I've read and followed this thread since this morning.
So this person is canvassing with SF?
    But he isn't running, right?
I suggest to everyone who has posted their bandwagon outrage at this to go and find out the history of EVERY single person who has accompanied any candidate on the campaign trail to find out their history.
This man was convicted of a crime and sentenced as such.

I had a local candidate call here a week or so ago canvassing. I won't name which party he was part of but it wasn't Sinn Fein. I didn't know the candidate from adam but I did know one of the men who was with him at my doorstep.
I also knew some of his history and believe me, he is a disgusting human being.
I politely declined to engage in conversation once I saw who was with them and shut the door.

So, is everyone on this thread going to quiz every single individual who accompanies a candidate, about their history???
I didn't think so and fwiw I don't support any party in the upcoming elections.

As I have stated above I support no political party and certainly do not condone or support murder.

You are gonig to get nowhere by trying to questioning my political affiliations as I have none, better luck next time.
