You could try rubbing urine into it.
It may not cure the cold sore
but as you already look like a leper you
may as well smell like the audience on
    Winning Streak.

    hehehe

Take this stuff OP and you won't get them.

Get some L-Lysine and take a load as soon as you feel a tingle.
Are you straight out of a genetics course or what?

Herpes is like a gypsy curse, the only way to free yourself is to pass it onto someone else.

For those looking who might need an answer to cold sores
    Bee propolis

I didn't know you could use propolis on cold sores. I've been dumping it in the past but I might hold on to some to try it next time.

Wonder what price paddy power would give me on you being in the prison forum under 48 hours?

    No, I'm not.
Why bother asking for advice when you seem to be to stupid to listen to any of it?

Just stop eating porridge and your problem is solved.

I have heard that sunlight can trigger them. I was out in the sun yesterday and and sure enough I had the beginnings of one today. Perhaps OP should grow a beard.

use a dab of surgical spirit on the sore twice a day to dry out the cold sore.. it will heal quicker

BTW, I was meant to be going out tonight. This cold sore of mine at the moment is barely visible... which is even more annoying because I can't decide on whether it's small enough not to be noticed!

Another interesting thing is that I rarely get cold sores on my upper lip.

Now that we have diagnosed and given treatment advice for the cold sore ..

And you have just verified that your hearing is ok ..

What else do you want AH Doctors to treat you for ?

We can diagnose everything ,but can't fix certain ailments ..
(i.e. being a knob ,too nice ,certain scumminess and being a politician)

Boasting is a sign of insecurity. Anyhow - ''Valtrex''
Rich Americans a few years ago would take this pill to make it go away as soon as they felt a tingle. They might take something even better now. I don't know.

    That is all.

There is no magic bullet cure for them unfortunately. Zovirax remains the best product on the market but it is only effective if you use it as soon as you feel a tingle. If it's already developed then it won't do much.

Tea tree oil is very effective at drying out the infection. Keep applying it during the day and before you go to bed with a cotton swab. After that it's just a matter of waiting it out.

Lycine works great. I cannot believe I only discovered it last year. Take 4 tablets straight away and then 2 every few hours. I would also put Zovirax or similar on it as well.

You can use lycine preventively also

For some people the zov cream works, others it doesn't. I used to get them and the zov cream would have em cleared up in two or three days.

Nothing works but prevention. Take lysine and keep your immme system up. Wear a SPF lip balm. Don't ovulate or have your period. Use your own cup in work. Definitely don't kiss someone with one.

They are utterly rotten painful nasty things.

Oh yeah, and don't eat too many nuts. Peanuts, almonds, whatever. They are all triggers.
