And then people wonder why sinn fein care always labeled with the terrorist brush

    http://www.independent.ie/irish-news/politics/cowardly-mountbatten-murderer-campaigns-for-sinn-fein-30294914.html
SINN Fein leader Gerry Adams has defended the involvement of Lord Louis Mountbatten's murderer in Sinn Fein's election campaign. Thomas McMahon – the only person convicted for the horrific IRA attack in 1979 that also killed two children – has been canvassing for MEP hopeful Matt Carthy.
Speaking to the Irish Independent, Mr Martin said: "Like a lot of people, I have watched with growing concern as Sinn Fein seeks to minimise and justify some of the most horrific and cruel episodes of their terror campaign.

"But even in this context, Mr Adams's defence of a colleague who killed a 14- and a 15-year-old child is particularly shocking."

The next 'shinnerbot' as use of an argument or insult will result in an infraction or ban.

Meh ...... Their supporters seem to care little for SFs terrorist associations

Just read that. The Mountbatten murder always sickened me. It was worse than cowardly.

Have Sinn Féin no common sense? They need to remove the obvious links to terrorism (including their liar of a leader) if they are going to make solid progress. Sure they will get the benefits of a large protest vote at this election but they will not sustain it unless they cop on.

Jesus. The ruling classes are shitting themselves at the thoughts of the Shinners doing well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,066 ✭✭✭✭Big Nasty

The Ra are fvckin scumbags and the Shinners are nothing but the political wing of the Ra. A political wing at that with not a fvcking clue!

People encouraged members of the IRA to disarm and move into politics and now you want to shun them for doing that?

The indo really are pushing their anti sinn fein agenda a bit much at this stage. People can see right through it. Won't be voting for the shinners myself, but nearly tempted to in response to the shameless bias of the indo dragging up any old story with which to bash them. We've been in a peace process for 20 years FFS.

A person responsible for the death of
two children is scum. A person who never apologised for it is worse than scum.

Look at their economic policies ffs! No austerity, no water charges, no property tax, etc. Where do they propose the government get the money needed to run the country and pay back our debts?

Also the main reason they're doing well is their badly thought out policies appeal to the red top readers as does their tiofchaidh ar la idealism.

    Thick cvnts!

All the political parties have blood on their hands if you go back far enough.

    The Northern Bank?

I fail to see why people are surprised by this.
McMahon murdered two kids in cold blood, he has never shown an ounce of remorse, and for this he is a republican hero.
Had he apologised or shown some element of remorse I would be far less annoyed as I do believe we need to move on.

They seem to be in a juggling act of wanting to keep the hardcore republican vote but also appeal to the moderates who aren't bothered with NI. Having these kinda of people involved with the SF party is the reason I (im guessing many more) will not be voting for them..

Sinn Fein have always been scum, they've just done a very good PR job. I would never vote for them, it's a matter of principal. A vote for Sinn Fein is an approval of their past behaviour in my opinion.

They seem to be making solid progress regardless to be honest.

McMahon, like thousands of others in Ireland, is an ex-combatant in a conflict that has been over for 17 years. Him, and other Republicans for that matter, weren't the only people involved in that particular conflict either.

Nelson Mandella was head of a terrorist organisation that planted bombs in public places and killed many men women and children

The current ruling parties FF and FG were involved in the irish civil war where hundreds of innocent people were killed...

Nothing is to be gained from dwelling in past conflicts. The peace process necessarily involves putting the past behind us and moving forward.

So you don't vote for Fianna Fail or Fine Gael either?

I don't know anything about the guy but I presume he worked on behalf of sinn fein for decades. The indo are clearly running this story now to damage the party's campaign. If they are not printing sensationalist tabloid rubbish then they are thumping their anti shinner agenda.

Indeed. Their die hard blow hards won't care, as they never have. One would hope that those who have been taken in by their bull5hit in recent years might take a long hard look at this, McConville, and other 'highlights' from SF/Provo's illustrious past.

If nobody represents your views, then a vote for 'nobody' would be a far more valid choice than a vote for this shower. If the parties don't represent you, take a look at some independants. There are some good people on there.

I wonder if Larry Murphy were canvassing for Sinn Fein, would people be so quick to defend him. After all, he's served his time, he's old news.

I do love though that outrage at a convicted and unrepentant murderer is considered anti-SF biase by Shinners. Talking out both sides of your mouths much?

I don't side with any political party but I'm getting tired of all this bitching about sinn fein. This sort of crap just makes it look like they can't argue against their policies so we'll just call them terrorists. Why arent we getting a story about how someone in FF, FG or Lab every week or have they all been perfect the past 20 years?

I think "the party" are doing a perfectly good job of that themselves by having this man canvass on behalf of one of their members.

Nice mature decision making there, chief!
