Wtf? I am actually seriously disappointed by this.

Probably the biggest act of human destruction and moral decline in human history and people want Jews to forget about it.

If the Brits said the same thing about Bloody Sunday we'd all be sh*tting ourselves.

Cavalier use of the Holocaust by the Simon Wisenthal Centre to launch a baseless attack on the Hunt Museum in Limerick, and by the Israeli American Council to attack Mary Robinson's conduct in trying to keep the peace at a UN conference in Durban some years ago may have coloured some Irish views on Holocaust rhetoric from certain quarters. Spectacular own goals there.

Just noticed that as well. The survey has just become void. I was surprised to see 30% as I've never noticed any ant-Semitics in Ireland. Unless they consider criticism of Israel to be anti-Semitic which of course the ADL does.

My first thought at the thread title. There are approx 1000 Jewish residents of our little country according to the last census and most of them life within about half an hour of Portobello.

Unfortunately, some members of pro-Palestinian movements in Ireland - though not the leadership - don't make that sensible distinction either.

Some of the 'purges' in Asian countries, surpass the Holocaust, numerically, as far as I am aware.

I went to a secondary school with a Jewish community, here in Dublin.

The 'gentiles' (myself included), had classical studies in the loft, while Hebrew studies took place.

I'd like to say this. Zionists (and right wing israeli nationalists) have misappropriated the holocaust and use it to hide behind and beat down anyone challenges their bigoted views. Jewish people in general do not do this.

Not every Jew is a Zionist and not every Zionist is a Jew.

...and Israel as a political state has nothing to do with Judaism as a religion, but most of the hatred comes out of mere political reasons, I would say.

Now, since I am a German, I could easily be shot, by accusing Israel of some sort of genocide on Palestine territory, so I better be quiet :rolleyes:

I don't dislike Jewish people but I dislike the ADL. They play nasty and a lot of the time it seriously seems like they are conjuring up anti-semitism where there is none.

They're too powerful (in the States) and people are scared to challenge their tactics for fear of being seen as anti-semitic.

And when you do, you get lumped in with some very "interesting" people. The kind of people who believe David Icke's lizards theory as fact rather than some well-crafted analogy.
