Is the name you choose for your confirmation or communion ( Cant remember ) listed on any offical documents

I know my First - middle - Surname is on my passport

I didn't take a confirmation name, the namebadge I wore only had the names already on my birth cert. I don't remember being asked to pick a name for confirmation. It's probably just as well. With the religious nut teacher we had we'd have had to take names like Perpetua and Immaculata.

Parish registers keep records of confirmations and confirmation names. You need to be confirmed before a catholic marriage! Canon law states "Catholics who have not yet received the sacrament of confirmation are to receive it before being admitted to marriage,"

I technically have 2, but they're hyphenated. Funny enough, they show up on stuff where I haven't said that I wanted them. And usually letters have my full name on them. But I like them, so its grand.

My middle name is a boy's name. My parents think they're funny, ****ers even put it on my first passport. And no I don't use it.

My brother managed to swing Rodrigo as his confirmation name, it was pretty funny on the day seeing a freckle-faced wee culchie rocking a suit and a big long head of hair with a green streak being referred to as Padraig Rodrigo. It's almost like he wasn't taking the whole thing seriously at all.

I've 2 middle names and they are never used

I've never been called my first name ever, its always my middle name. Apparently my first name was my dad doing what my mum told him not to do and giving me a stupid first name so.

I have a middle name. So do my siblings.
Our neighbours got 3 names when christened. We were all so jealous. We felt it was the epitome of POSH.

It used to be said, round my way, when we were kids that Brazilian soccer players only had one name because they were too poor to afford anymore. Truth is, i think they usually have 6-8 names, as is the spanish/portuguese way.

I ended up with 2 on my birth cert, Patrick and Michael after my grandfathers, and Joseph for my conformation.
My mother used to roar the whole lot at me when I was in trouble, which nearly had her so out of breath she'd hardly have the energy to catch me.

None. I don't have any. Well, a confirmation one I guess, but as it's not written down anywhere official and I don't have any other middle names, I'm going with none.
    Same here.

Was always told my full name included a middle name but when I actually looked at my birth cert no middle name is on it.

My ma still says I have a first, middle and surname, she just didn't bother including the middle name when registering me.

I have a confirmation name that's never used either.

I have a first, middle & last name (not including confirmation name),

the middle name was my father's first name, and since his passing, I've started to use it a bit more

No middle name at birth/baptism and managed to avoid confirmation, so I've only the two names.

my first name is a variation on me das first name(also deceased sadly),Im early-mid thirties now,and i noticed around my late twenties that people started referring to me by my das name without themselves realising,i was the spitting image of my da so when the hair started thinning and i got more of an adults face that our similar looks became more pronounced i think they just subconsciously started calling me my das name.i often find my self using his name without realising it myself, when signing for deliveries and stuff.

(my used name) (Grandmother1 name) (Grandmother2 name) (Mothers name) (Confirmation name) (Surname with two parts)

    :pac:

Needless to say, it does not fit on my passport.

I'm really interested to clarify my doubt after knowing that so much confusion exists with the middle name. The latest Irish birth certificate has two columns for the child's name. One is the column mentioned 'Name' and the other is the column mentioned 'Surname'. By this one is sure that the second column that mentions 'Surname' is indeed the Surname. But where does the first name and the middle name fit into? Do they fit together into the column mentioned 'Name'? In that case, how would one identify which is first name and which is middle name?

My middle name is actually the name I am most commonly referred to by.

The face on people who I've known for years when I tell them that it isn't my real name and whip out the passport to prove it!

I have one middle name and one confirmation name. My confirmation name is rotten and I only chose it because my auntie on my dads side and my mom had a major falling out when I was in 6th class and it bothered my mom. Otherwise I'd have chosen a better one
