In Game of Thrones, Westeros and Esteros are so called because Westeros is the continent in the west and Esteros is the continent in the East.

If you turn subtitles on for films/programs you can see how things are spelt.

I remember some lad in a thread about shutter island
he was saying how it was obvious that Leo's characters name was an anagram, like he was great for copping on, but moreso making out others should have copped it too, and stupid not to. After further questioning it turns out his parents were hard of hearing and so he watched all films with subtitles! so had this weird surname spelt out fully constantly in front of him and didn't bother to mention it!

That if someone highlights a paragraph in "Spoiler", it's because they don't want to spoil something for people that haven't seen it..
    (Well, i knew that..)

I just read the above paragraph 2 or 3 times, and couldn't make head nor tail of it. Until i copped on, that it would probably make more sense if I had seen the film in question.. :o

That the motorways coming off the m50 start at the top with the m1 goin north and end with the n11 and the other roads in numerical order from the m1 south, so like m1,m2,m3 and so on.
Only realised this the other day.
    I'm 48 years old.

Only realised the other day that the song 'Don't Speak' by No Doubt is about a break up.

Clearly not the sharpest tool in the shed!

Because the N4 splits into the N5 and N6 further on. One goes to Sligo, the other to Galway.

The really confusing one is after the N7, it goes to N81. There aren't that many divergances off the N7 :P

D'Olier Street is pronounced Dun-leer street
I was saying Doll-ier St for years and years until a taximan recently corrected me.

I still don't know which end is the top of Grafton Street?!?

    Not 'Dun'.

Dolleer is possibly best way of spelling the pronounciation.. I'm not sure.
    But definitely no 'N'.

Also, most (Not All) Taxi drivers are full of shíté... ;) I think the top is Shopping Centre.

Number 1 Grafton Street is at Trinners so the top would be the Stephen's Green I would have thought.

I pronounce it as 'Dolleer' but it could be wrong. I'd say the top is where the shopping centre is. It would be weird (to me) if it was the other way around as that part is slightly higher up than Nassau St. :o

Probably the best lesson you could learn from this is not to take any kind of education from taxi drivers.
