I used to use them for months! Then I got an epilator and now I pull every body hair out from the neck down, one at a time, very slowly.

Invest in a double-edge Razor. It is far cheaper in the long run as the blades are much cheaper. It's €20-€40 for 100 blades which would last you the best part of a year if not longer. Shave quality is about the same or slightly better than shaving with a cartridge razor.

    And women what shave.

If you're like me and find that after three shaves the disposable blade starts to rip your face off (or legs) and find the cost of these disposable shavers too much to bear.

Disposable shavers only cost about €3-5 for 5 of them .
I throw them out after each shave. Couldnt use them more than once.

    Its cheap enough imo.

Gods-damn you, King C. Gillette! Theirs is the only advertising to which I am not immune. I use a Fusion razor, and it is excellent. In a moment's brief rebellion against the bowel-evacuating price of the cartridges I returned to a Mach-3 last year and was stunned at how crap it was compared to the five-blade job. I do, however, keep an old toothbrush handy for cleaning between the blades after each shave. That knocks a bit more life out of 'em.

Aren't they quit tricky to use compared to the safety razors? More chance of cutting yourself?

Personally speaking, i found they are pretty much the same to use as cartridge razors. I've heard that it can take people with more sensitive skin a little while longer for their skin to acclimatize itself to using them, but once you have used them for a little while, there is no difference in terms of shaving difficulty.

Correct me if i am wrong but i believe safety razors and double edge razors are the same thing unless you mean cartridge razors?

In terms of cutting yourself, the first few times you use it and the odd time thereafter you might nick yourself but it is nothing a bit of cold water and / or aftershave can't sort out :D. Maybe some Alum salt if you went all freddy kruger on your face.

I highly recommend them if you are prone to ingrown hairs from shaving. That was the main reason i switched to them and have not had one since.

Yeah i have been on this game for a while, I cant remember the last time i bought razors.

It's not the worst thing that could happen. The clean-shaven look is one that tends to work for most people, and is seen as more professional in work environments. Unless your job is in a computer game shop, where the neckbeard, black t-shirt, baggy ill-fitting jeans is considered de rigueur.
Why do you feel the urge to sneer at something/someone with every second post you make? It's a rather distasteful superiority complex that you seem to harvest, at least through an online persona. A very unprofessional trait too, I would wager.

I live in a house made of brillo and velcro pads, so shaving is absolutely essential in my case, or else I'd never be able to leave the house.

I bought a pack of those disposable razors in lydl for €2. I thought if they were no good I'd just through them out. Surprisingly I'm getting a good two weeks out of each one.

I tried the aldi ones which are dirt cheap. Ended up with my face looking like that of a spotty teenager because of all the ingrown hairs.

I'm now back to overpaying Mr Gillette.

I shave mine with grizzly bear claws, the one I defeated the other day.

I get Mach 3 blades on eBay for half the price that they are sold in the shoppe.

Electric razors are far better and they'll save you a lot of money in the long run. I don't understand why anyone would want to use disposable razors tbh. It's more money, more hassle and you have to deal with nasty cuts.

I tried electric once. My face looked like minced meat after :(

    +1.
I have heard people saying they cut their face or got a rash from them. But they take getting used to, even between models. I had an old one which had gone blunt and got a new fairly expensive one and I got rashes the first few weeks. If I switch back to a regular blade I end up getting rashes too. Sudocrem put on straight after really helps in those first few weeks, I would shave at night not to be walking around with a white sudocrem face!

I since got a professional level wahl hair razor, it happens to be a "balding razor" so cuts extremely close, like a 5 o clock shadow, much closer than a normal hair clipper with no plastic blades on it. I now use this on my face, its incredible quick. I think the wahl professional cuts at twice the speed, and has a better motor and much better blades.

It was probably a bad one. I've been using mine for years without a single cut. Although I've heard it takes about 2 weeks for your skin to get accustomed to an electric razor if you've been using disposables.
