well lads, im new to all this diagnostics stuff with cars and was wondering is their anyone who would know much about it, we have a 05 kia cerato and the check engine light is on from what i gather any mechanic with an obd II can read these problems.
If so roughly how much would a diagnostics cost and can any of ye guys reccomend one in ennis co.clare
    Thanks in advance!

Hi A diagnostic check for a car would cost between 30 and 50 euro in Dublin so I would say its around that in Ennis. A check engine light can come on for the slightest of faults so I wouldnt worry too much if the car is driving ok. Get it checked out ad ask for a print out of the diagnostic report.

I have the golf booked in to be valeted in a week and a half. Can't wait parents are getting the octavia done as both are quite dirt after this house move with everything and anything being thrown in them. I never had a car valeted before so should be nice. Considering its a week and a half away it will be very dirty by then. Once it's cleaned properly once it should be fairly easy to keep myself.

I have one too, although there isn't anything actually wrong with the car  no codes showing up, we can start a cel club

I have to get it checked during the week.

The cat might've gone, which is a common failure. Was due to get it serviced anyway so....

I haven't mentioned the car I want here. I want to keep it as a surprise because it's going to be something awesome and extremely rare.

It's not THAT expensive, I just don't have much in my pocket.

It's not going to be a diesel and it's not going to be a 126p or a Fiat, or even Italian... I'll tell you that much. :)

You have been dropping hints about this car for a while now. You also mentioned a few times it's not too expensive. It must not be a popular car if it's cheapish and not sold yet. I would advise you to fix up the colt put it through the NCT and sell it on for as much as you can get and buy that car you want.

Ahh I know what you're getting now. It's either a mk7 cz3 or you might push the boat out and go for an open top!! :pac: :D

True, the EXACT one I want is not popular at all (well, at least in Ireland), but the car's "brother" is very popular worldwide. :)

About the Colt, if I can sell it for €800 or close to that the way it is, will I really make much more if I put it through NCT? It will be about €90 + €55 for the NCT.

Going to give this a test drive if possible on Wednesday, not planning to buy for a while but just to get an idea of the difference between the Sport and SE. Got to keep BN happy :pac:

That's pretty tidy looking, if a little over priced.

Ah I know it's overpriced alright, if it's still around when I plan on buying I'll certainly be interested in it. Not worried about the mileage at all anyway as I know those engines can go for miles.
