Are removable steering wheels road-legal? Early MX-5s, like what I'm hoping to buy, don't seem to have much in the way of security systems.

Yep, nothing wrong with them. Know a few lads that use them, pass NCT no bother.
    Got a link?

Get a Clifford system fitted, cost a few blips but it's well worth it. :)

Great to hear. Is it handy enough to do a compression test. Is it just a matter of removing spark plug and replacing it with the pressure gauge and turning over the engine and reading the gauge. Or is thre more to it than that ? I can't say I've ever seen a car getting a compression test.

Thats pretty much it, but do it in all the spark plugs because your leak could be coming from any one of them

I know what you mean alright compare the results and they should be all around the same. It's great to hear the pressure were a good in each cylinder.

I'd say that alright. Nothing worse than the feeling of 3 good cylinders and one way below the average I'd imagine. Is there high miles on the Saab out of curiosity ?

What is with people always always parking beside me. I always park in a quiet part away from cars and time and time again I come back to find someone has parked beside me and its usually some clapped out yok.

The girlfriend thinks it's gas drives me mad.

On the kid thing I have one on the way and all I keep hearing is goodbye to your clean car my arse I say just because Ill have a kid doesn't mean the car has to look like a dump inside it. My child will be thought to respect cars and other people's property.

If it's quiet take up two spaces. Usually works, if it's busy bring her car!

I used to do the whole take up two spaces thing but after hearing people say they would or should criminally damage cars that do it made me a bit paranoid.

Just back from a little spin, to Derry and back via Killybegs:P
743km since fri and let's just say, there is no soot left in my exhaust;)

Did you ever come back from a road trip thinking, "I have the best car in the world and I wouldn't change it"

    That's me right now:D

I was stickered up the whole way, did anybody spot me?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,880 ✭✭✭Kaiser D

Do something completely mad and interesting with it then Gvido.

Might I suggest "da rat look" (I'm not a fan 90% of the time, but when done right it looks good)

I have my mind set on a certain car that I can't wait to get. Maybe that's the problem.

As much as I'd love to wrap it in hot pink, that would set me back financially. :pac:
