Version 1.26 firmware has been released , I've made up a channel list/firmware file if anyone wants to test http://www.mediafire.com/download/8uohq6p1oav1hpj/A150Combo_April_29_V1.26B3.abs

Please bear in mind I've not tested this for any great length of time so proceed at your own risk . If you get a bin file mismatch warning do not proceed.

Would be interested to see what guys think of this latest incarnation which has IPTV functionality , not sure if it had this before.

Thanks Tony. I've just upgraded so it'll be a while before I can spot any differences. I'll let you know if I see anything.
I think the IPTV feature was already in previous versions. Think I might try to get the box connected and have a look.

Tony, not much to say about the update. Very little to see.

One bug fix I noticed (although it may have been in the previous version, don't know for sure) is while recording a channel from a favourite group, you are stuck in that group. A pain if you are recording say a saorview channel and want to have a look at a satellite channel in a different group. They fixed this by switching to the All Channels group whenever you record. Not a perfect fix but a welcome workaround.

So it is good that real problems are being addressed.

I might add that the issue with recording and then playing a file and the record getting messed up is still there. That is a nasty bug that I would have thought would be relatively easy to block.

Thanks Patch , useful info. I can understand your frustration at that problem not being fixed.

Ive jumped from 1.24 to this version. The only thing I have noticed so far is that when I press the off button goes to the red light, whereas before it went to the green light and clock.

    That's just a setting......

Menu > System Setup > Other > Clock in Standby - Set to "on".

As stated you need to get your box flashed. If you wanted to post your general location, perhaps some kindly soul might offer to do it for you.

I work in Clonshaugh and I'll be there Tuesday so I could help you out if you don't get any other offers. I had this issue before and you need a PC with a proper serial interface (the USB types don't seem to work) so I had to make use of a very old Pc belonging to the in-laws. Let me know if you need help and I'll try to root out the serial cable I used.

    Thanks.
I'm sure some do but those I've tried don't (two different types), so they are not dependable. If someone needs to fix their box I don't want to send them down a path that won't work.
Actually, if you have a USB serial dongle that does work maybe let us know the type so we can at least point people in the right direction.

Thanks, that's handy to know. The serial port dongles I have tried were both usb to normal rs232 serial not usb to rs232 null modem. I had to add a null modem cable to mine which was a step too far for them. I didn't know you could get usb to null modem *sigh*. Thanks again.

Flashing from one box to another is also an option but it does not work 100% of the time.

Guys is there anywhere on the interweb or does anyone have a link as to where i can download a channel list for the Ariva 150 on to a usb stick. I have been asked to re-tune a few boxes in the last few weeks and i don't want to go back to the days of tuning deleting and moving channels. Any help appreciated.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,566 ✭✭✭ALS

I used the link that Tony posted 2 pages back and done my in-laws 2 boxes today no problem

  • Moderators, Regional South East Moderators Posts: 3,591 Mod ✭✭✭✭St Senan

What i am looking for is a pre numbered channel list that is loaded from a USB stick into the receivers like other receivers such as Walker, Triax and Alma.
As i said i don't want to go back to the days of tuning deleting and moving channels.

Thanks Tony and ALS for that link. Is there anywhere on the interweb that i could download a channel list from instead of retuning deleting and moving channels.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,364 ✭✭✭✭Tony

I'm confused by your question, the link I posted is a channel list which does not require any retuning deleting etc.

Tony I don't see any option to download a channel list from the link 2 pages back maybe i am missing something. What i am looking for is a channel list that i can download on to a USB to load into some Ariva 150's. There are up to date channel lists available for Walker, Alma and triax on the net but I cant come across any for Ariva 150. Can you direct me to the link or PM a link. Thanks :)
