Agger back in the team, swan song possibly. The man's been a great servant so hopefully he ends it with one of his trademark thunderbolts.

I doubt sentiment comes into it. I hope not. Sakho dropped.

In many ways it's been the year of the banner.
A plane tows another one across the sky above Anfield reading: 'United 20, Gerrard 0.'

Somewhere in the north west there's a pilot of a small plane who is making a killing out of this season...

    Classy

Listening to the radio I cant help but realise that Liverpool may have scuppered their best chance of winning the PL for the foreseeable future if they do not win it today.
Man City will only improve next year if they can get on top of all the injury problems. Arsenal too could sort out their injury problems and they seem to have money available to buy big. Chelsea will buy (and sell) and Mourinho 2nd season will be better almost automatically.
The champions league will be a huge distraction and drain on resources. Also the fact that lesser teams will up their game for PL contenders next season could make next season very tough.

Liverpool wont improve or spend money though?

We have scuppered nothing as we're never supposed to be in the race in the first place.
We will also strenghthen in the summer.
Injury problems are not something you can sort, they happen and will happen again next season.
I can't wait for next season and I think we will be challenging.

That's my point, Liverpool will have to improve/spend bigtime because the other 3 teams suffered a dip in form this year and will definitely improve.

    Dip in form?

With one game to play Chelsea have already 4 more points than last season, Man City have 5 more points and Arsenal have 3 more points.

    In conclusion, stop talking rubbish.

Absolutely but Liverpool got off lightly on the injury front (less games of course) this season. Man City lost all their good players for long periods of time (Aguero, Silva, Toure, Negredo etc). Arsenal too lost their most influential players when it counted.
Imagine if Liverpool lost Suarez or Gerrard or Skrtel for a sustained period.

Last year was a runaway and soft league for an average Manchester United because nobody else wanted to win it. They won it with 89 points.

2011/2012 - Man City had 6 points more than they have now. Man Utd had the same points (89).

Man Utd have 26 points less this season, another team that could make a comeback.

So a dip in form is 2 seasons?

You don't know what your talking about. Sturridge, Suarez, Gerard a, coutinho and most of starting defence have all been missing for considerable periods.

I refuse to believe there isn't someone who could have came in to replace Johnson. Kelly, aly, mclaghlin anyone ffs. Absolutely abysmal player .

Martin Skrtel has very nearly scored a tenth of the goals we conceded this year.

I'm not going to bother trying to analyse the fag end of the season. When the chance goes, everything else tends to follow.

Its been a great season in so many respects, hopefully Luis Suarez can bag the one goal he needs to get 32 goals and to tip Liverpool into three figures.

So manU will have an easy ride to PL glory next season, seeing as lesser teams will raise their games for PL contenders?

    You're gas, so you are:-)

Awful first half with another own goal from the liability that is Martin Skrtel. As for Glen Johnson completely useless as usual.

lets see if the fans get behind the team before the start of the 2nd half ala Istanbul. because that's where we are at present folks, barring a miracle of instanbul proportion. The players are flat the crowd are flat.

    Come on you Redmen.
