Shingles cure

    Does anyone know where I can get the cure for shingles. I have heard of a person in the Leitrim area but don't have any details. My father got the cure years ago but can't remember where in Leitrim. Or Any other suggestions for west or northwest would be appreciated.

    You could try posting the same thing on every forum on this site? Or go to a doctor. They're good at cures, as opposed to 'the cure'.

    There is no cure for Shingles, it's caused by the Varicella zoster virus, the same one that causes chicken pox and a member ilof the herpesvirus family.

    If caught early you can take an antiviral like aciclovir to prevent or dampen viral replication, take paracetamol for the pain and apply a topical lotion to help ease the pain of lesions.

    Any "cure" from some lad in Leitrim is likely just nonsense unfortunately. Get to a Dr. and get started on the antivirals, sooner the better.
