Unfortunately I can't do it before 8pm as I'm at work so go ahead. Its no biggie, enjoying watching whose picked anyways.

It'll give me a bit of time to do a mock of my own.:)

I have the very last two picks in the draft. Do you want to take one, I'll take the other.

I'm all for it if it happens.

Picks made for the Broncos and Vikes. Will PM next in line

Love the selections of Aiken & Smith. Was tempted by Aiken to the Browns in the 3rd.

    Think a 4th is pushing it ;)

Would love to see who people have as the 5 best prospects left once the 3rd round finishes

Steelers draft a tackle from a Canadian university

I didn't know you could do that. There's something I learned today

I know Cameron Wake came from the CFL but he was a free agent

My picks made and Dohnny Jepp has been PM'ed.

    Final pairing now.

    Congrats everyone.

    Great stuff all round.

All the picks are in. 100 picks made is fantastic stuff. Adrian522 deserves great credit for his rolling big draft board.

    13 - Wide Receiver

We are repeatedly told that the NFL is now a passing league and outside of QB the top spots are WR, OT, CB and passrushers. The Wide Receiver class is incredibly deep and there are still a few solid talents on the boards, Mike Davis, Josh Huff, Kevin Norwood to name 3

    12 -Corner Back, Offensive Tackle

James Hurst is the clear No.1 OT left on the board. Had he not broken his leg, I think he could have been a 2nd round guy so he will offer great value whenever he is selected. Aaron Colvin is in a similar boat as he blew out his knee at the Senior Bowl.

    10 - QuarterBack

As for the QB's, how has the great Tom Savage not been picked. A 1st round talent who we would take 10 Qb's before.... surely not!!

    9- Outside Linebacker.

Passrushers certainly rank up with the above positions as important to a successful franchise. DE/OLB actually account for 17 of the total picks. Adrian Hubbard, Michael Sam & Aaron Lynch are 3 of the best passrushers left.

    8 - Defensive End

Will Clark, Aaron Lynch & James Gayle remain on the board here

    7 - Defensive Tackles, Safety

I think after the top 3 guys this is a pretty weak safety class. Ty Zimmerman, Allen Darby & Isaih Lewis are the best of a bad lot remaining. At DT there is still some good talent available with Derrick Hopkins & LT Tuipulotu being a pair of guys who I would expect to make a 53 man panel. Tuipulotu replaced Lotulelei at UTAH. He was excellent in his toughest match-up of the season against Sua'Filo. He had done nothing prior to his senior year but is one to watch.

    6 - Running backs

The 2nd year in a row where no RB is going to go in the 1st. While there is no standout performer I think the talent level is actually pretty good accross a number of players. Bishop Sankey is probably my No.1 RB so he will provide great value in the 4th round. Guys like Isiah Crowell, Storm Johnson & Andre Williams could all make an impact

    5 - Tightends

It's a bit of a low number considering how "in vogue" the position is at the moment. Arthur Lynch, Colt Lyerla, AC Leonard & Richard Rogers are intriguing prospects

    3 - Centre, Inside Linebacker

The centre class is fairly weak outside of the guys taken so far and I would struggle so see many more getting drafted. Bryan Stork could be the one who probably will be drafted. He is a solid player who might earn a starting spot one day. The ILB position is another that has been devalued of late but Shane Skov & Yawim Smallwood are 2 very solid players who at worst would be great special teams guys. If Max Bullough had his head attached he could have been taken in the 1st 2 rounds. As it stands he is a fifth round guy but mucj like Vontaze Burfict if he landed in the right situation he could be superb.

    0 - Kickers, Punters, Fullbacks

I love fullbacks. The Giants currently have the Terminator and Hynosaurus on our books. J.C. Copeland out of LSU would be the pick of this years bunch for me.

Nate Freeze is the kicker with the best chance to get drafted, giving new meaning to the term icing the kicker :D

Kirby Van Der Kamp and Pat O'Donnell are people too and deserve to be drafted

Super stuff lads. 100 picks in and right on time for the real thing too.

Just had a quick scan through so I might have missed some teams, but I think the Vikings would be over the moon with that draft, Bridgewater, Von Noy and Jones in the first three rounds would be a cracking haul for them IMO. The Bills with Matthews, Niklas and Jean-Baptiste, the Jets with Beckham Jr, Gaines and Fiedorowicz and the Ravens with Mosley, Ward, West and Landry all jump out too.

What are you favourite hauls from the draft? In fact, I think one would struggle to find any team unhappy with what they've been given on paper there IMO which is testament to all contributors.

Thanks to Higgins for setting it up and ensuring its smooth running and also to Adrian for the Big Board. It was very enjoyable and helped me to learn a lot more about teams needs and players I otherwise wouldn't have known about.

Same time next year lads

Yeah, thanks Higgins. Very well run. To get 3 rounds in is impressive.

I'm going with the Jaguars picking up Clowney, Bitonio and Mettenberger (and not just because I was them) and Bucs with Watkins, Jackson and Garoppolo. Although the Vikings and Ravens did pretty well also.

I wonder how close we'll be on Thursday. How many players do you think we'll get in the right spot or to the right team?

Statistics show that the experts get on average 10 players to the right team/spot and 27 of the 1st round players correctly.

Last year we only got 4 or 5 correct over the two rounds. The Dolphins, Raiders, Bills and Rams trades messed it up a bit for us. The same will happen this year as teams like the Texans, Rams, Falcons and Raiders all have a strong possibility of trading, but if we were to get 8 picks over the two rounds spot on we'd be doing extremely well IMO.

Then again, it's all just a guessing game really, there's not a whole lot of skill involved as we know generally what sort of positions teams are aiming for. We'd have almost as much chance of being correct if we threw up pictures of those expected to go in the 1st and threw darts at a board for our picks :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,369 ✭✭✭UnitedIrishman

Have to agree with the Jags getting the best picks of the lot. They can let Mettenberger develop or put him in if Henne struggles and then if all else fails you've got a near top pick next year aswell as having arguably the best player in this year's draft in Clowney.

Bucs picks I like too. I really like Evans as a prospect (ended up watching more of his play than Haha's when I was watching Haha's a video of Haha plays vs. A+M!) but Watkins will definitely go ahead of him IMO. From a Packers point of view, I'd be disappointed if we didn't address the safety position in the first three rounds but with Pryor and Clinton-Dix off the board in the first then Thompson will more than likely go with best player available as he usually does.

Will be interesting to see how close we go to the real thing. Its definitely much harder to be accurate when you can't look at the overall picture of the draft on your own like those mocking it do so we'd be doing well to get anywhere near it.

I think Bishop Sankey is a glaring omission for me. The best all round RB in the draft who had was just superb this last year with over 2,000 combined yards & 21 td's. He can do it all, sub 4.5 40 time, good in pass blocking, pass catching out of the backfield. He is my No.1 RB and will be superb pick up.

I like all the TE's remaining that I mentioned. They all have the ability to make an impact.

James Hurst would be the last one for me. Obviously the broken leg will drop him down but if a team can afford to basically give him the year there is no reason why he can't become a solid starting LT

Just had a look at Mike Mayock's Top 100 compared to ours. The following players are in his that we don't have (of course this is his top 100 players, not where he expects players to go)
    66. Bashaud Breeland, CB, Clemson
    69. Ed Stinson, DE, Alabama
    73. Will Clarke, DE, West Virginia
    74. Andre Williams, RB, Boston College
    76. Brent Urban, DE, Virginia
    78. Devonta Freeman, RB, Florida State
    79. Ego Ferguson, DT, LSU
    83. Bruce Ellington, WR, South Carolina
    85. Marqueston Huff, S, Wyoming[
    86. Jaylen Watkins, CB, Florida
    89. Justin Ellis, DT, Louisiana Tech
    90. Tom Savage, QB, Pittsburgh
    92. Paul Richardson, WR, Colorado
    93. Aaron Colvin, CB, Oklahoma
    94. Dontae Johnson, CB, N.C. State
    96. Preston Brown, LB, Louisville
    97. DaQuan Jones, DT, Penn State
    98. Aaron Murray, QB, Georgia
    99. Charles Sims, RB, West Virginia[/URL]

One player in his top 100 and isn't in ours who I think will go in the top 100 is RB Bishop Sankey. PAC-12 leading rusher. Player I have always liked, see him being called a "poor man's Emmitt Smith" recently on NFL.com, I would be shocked to see 5 RB's go before him

    My Ravens got

    CJ Moseley MLB
    Jimmie Ward FS
    Terrence West RB
    Jarvis Landry WR

I'd be happy with that :)

Just a CB, OT and a backup QB in that order and pretty much everything is addressed

I think Aaron Colvin could be a bargain for someone. He tore his ACL at the senior Bowl so he's probably looking at being on the PUP list/IR for the season but if he recovers well he could be a great pickup.

I could see SF taking a punt on him given how many draft picks we have and he wouldn't take up a roster spot for 2014.

BTW Aaron Murray was selected in our draft.

One guy I know for sure is gonna go higher than we had him is that lad Jeremiah Attaochu, I reckon he will go early 2nd.

Also the hype around Latimer means he'll probably be long gone before 89 (where I think we have him).

Chargers might take Colvin as high as round 4 I'm hearing.

Latimer will be the biggest discrepancy between our effort and the real thing. If he doesn’t sneak into the first he’s gone by mid-second.

Well we got the first 3 picks right if not in the right order not many mocks had Bortles in first 3!!!.

    Here's how I did:

Khalil Mack - I picked 6th overall to Falcons, went 5th to Raiders
Gabe Jackson - 38th overall to Tampa, went 81st overall
Trent Murhphy- picked him 65th overall, he went 47th.
Pierre Desir - picked him 66th overall, he went 127th
Kareem Martin - picked 68th overall, he went 84th.

Not great really. I way over-drafted Jackson and Desir.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 541 ✭✭✭In Exile

    Here's how I did:

Jeez, I had a nightmare draft!

Odell Beckham - While I picked him up at 18 for the Jets, he went at 12 to the Giants. However, around the same time Evans was taught to maybe be available to the Jets that far down

M Bryant - An overreach to Miami at pick 50. Went to Pittsburgh @ 118

Following 3 picks weren't used as JHiggins picked for me but these were my selections:

C Jones - Picked at 71 for Cleveland. Signed as an UFA with Chicago

D McCullers - Picked at 72 for the Vikings. Went to Pittsburgh @ 215

S Crichton - Picked at 73 for Buffalo. Went one spot earlier to Minnesota.

2 picks close enough, one overreach by 68 spots, another by 143 and another wasn't selected within the next 185 picks!

My Picks below, not too bad other than the Richardson pick which was a bit of a stinker.

30 Jason Verrett CB San Francisco 49ers

Went @ 25 to San Diego. San Francisco selected safety/CB JimmieWard

62 Trai Turner G New England Patriots

Went at 92 to Carolina, New England selected Jimmy Garoppolo QB

68 Antonio Richardson OT Atlanta Falcons

Undrafted Free Agent with the Vikings, Falcons selected Dezmen Southward S at this spot.

69 Jimmy Garoppolo QB Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Garoppolo went to the Patriots at pick 62, Tampa selected Charles Sims RB

70 Zach Mettenberger QB Jacksonville Jaguars

Mettenberger lasted until pick 178 before going to the Titans, the Jaguars traded this pick to move up 9 spots to select Allen Robinson WR.

    I had
Marquise Lee - Taken Early 2nd Round instead of Late 1st Round
DeMarcus Lawrence - Taken Early 2nd instead of Late 2nd Round
Brock Vereen - Taken Late 4th instead of Late 3rd
Laurent Duvarney-Tardif - Taken Late 6th instead of Late 3rd

I knew LDT was going to be a bit edgy considering his inexperience at the position, but I feel like he's going to do well in years to come so I drafted him anyway.

Expected Vereen to come sooner, as well as Lee.

It'll be more interesting to see how they get on after a year.

These were my picks, I got some pretty good value compared to where they were actually picked apart from Brandon Thomas.

    25|Kyle Fuller|CB|San Diego Chargers|Virginia Tech
    57|Dominique Easley|DT|San Diego Chargers|Florida
    74|Ja'Wuan James|OT|New York Giants|Tennessee
    75|Brandon Thomas|OT|St Louis Rams|Clemson
    76|Jeremiah Attaochu|OLB|Detroit Lions|Georgia Tech

    Kyle Fuller: My Pick = 25, Actual Pick = 14 (+11)
    Dominique Easley: My Pick = 57, Actual Pick = 29 (+28)
    Ju'Wuan James: My Pick = 74, Actual Pick = 19 (+55)
    Brandon Thomas: My Pick = 75, Actual Pick = 100 (-25)
    Jeremiah Attaochu: My Pick = 76, Actual Pick = 50 (+26)

Damn it... Jags got him at #114 and Chargers had given their 4th rounder away in any event for Attaochu who I figured would go earlier than we had him going in our mock.
