Would a lot of people have Nicklas rated over Seferian-Jenkins?

Perhaps those being selected to draft should have a 500 or 1k post minimum for next year - as looking at the couple above you they've very few.

I should have got involved, I post quite a bit on the bears forum but limited enough on the main one so didn't wanna get in the way of more regular posters but regret that now.

Ah yeah fair enough, I suppose there isn't an obvious solution, I was just going on the basis regular posters will come back and make sure it's done. Not a great suggestion though I guess.

When it comes to offensive linemen, I'm far more likely to criticise poor play than I am to herald good play. So the fact that I haven't anything to say about his weaknesses probably says more than having little to say about his strengths. I don't really keep an eye on Centers unless they're going out of their way to stand out (in a good or bad way). I wouldn't call him dominant, but I wouldn't say he was beat easily either. I can't remember ever thinking "Martin's a liability out there", nor can I recall having ever thought "Kid is on fire today". He went up against Louis Nix and Will Sutton too so he must have done something right not to be noticed by me

Maybe if I was to go back and watch games again and look specifically at Martin, then I might notice more things about him. But I won't give you some spiel about arm length or stance or hips or any of that bollox. We gave up a lot of sacks last year and I can't remember Martin being solely responsible (that's not to say he wasn't). On the other hand, we had a very good ground game as the season progressed, and I do recall a lot of success up the middle so I'm sure Martin and his guards must have had a hand in that. You've also got the fact that USC is a school renowned for producing NFL offensive line talent.

I'm not a Benjamin fan, but you can't really argue with that pick for the 49ers at #56. Certainly value at that stage when you consider most experts have him pegged as a first rounder.

Updated that list of picks a few posts up.

While I like the last few picks, both TE's and Martin at C/G, that's pretty much my entire shortlist for the Patriots pick,

The 49ers Pick I like. That Alex Smith trade is the gift the keeps on giving. For Smith the 49ers got the Chiefs second round last year and this pick.

With last years first pick in the second round, they traded it to the Titans for pick 40 and 216 and ended up selecting Tank Carradine at 40 and used the 216 pick to trade up for the number 88 to select Corey Lemonier . Not too bad and they still have the number 56 pick in this years draft from that trade.

so that would be WR and CB addressed and still the niners would have 1 2nd and 3 3rds in this draft.

Yea we can give it a shot. There are 7 picks left in the 2nd round at the moment.

We will have about a week to do it so if anyone is interested posted here.

There will be about an 8 hour time frame to submit picks in the 3rd round so only post if you are really interested and will be on here everyday from now till the 8th.

If you would be up for making multiple picks in the 3rd round please indicate so as well.

I’ll happily do my round 3 pick but couldn’t guarantee it in the 8 hours. I’d be astonished if we got it done before the 8th.
