A number were turned down as well. No club in the A championship got financially burned. A number of clubs were content to build in a regionalised tier. For any new area it's not going to be an overnight success.

Nice to win a game, typically I missed it. 2 goals for Jake Hyland, who impressed against Rovers in the LSC by all accounts.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Really enjoyable game. Played some great football at times. Hyland's two goals were very well taken. His reactions are superb. Would stick him in behind Jayo and Devaney on Friday night. Looks a good talent and not afraid to have a pop.

Anto Murphy came back in for the last 10 mins or so. Blooding new talent and getting some older heads returning at a good time.

Negatives: Bucko and Traynor. Horrendous games for both of them. Pushed off the ball to easily. Took them an age to pick a simple pass.

Good to see us really taking the game to the opposition at home in a second half we dominated largely.

Who? The only clubs who applied for a first division license were Cobh, Tralee and Carlow. Tralee and Carlow were basically dismissed. A couple of other clubs (Tullamore were one, I think Fanad too) pulled out before the last season of the A Championship because they knew they weren't ready to step up to a fully national second tier and saw no point in playing a final season in the doomed third tier.

Tralee applied again for this season and were dismissed in favour of a Rovers B team, so they can't win.

Treacy, Lawrence, Mc Court all released this week.

    Anyone afford any of them?

Fairly sure my post on the subject was" we signed Fahey should add a few hundred to the gate ........but wont"

I honestly cba with LOI fans that get into arguments over **** crowds. We all have **** crowds and a thread on here full of stupid fcuking ideas to increase our crowds. So i just dont worry about it anymore.

Imo the crowds will turn when we have an international player in our league, England heading towards picking players from the Champo.....when ireland does it will be the only thing to push the league on turnout wise.

Stadiums: some teams have nice ones, some teams dont.....doesnt help crowds. Cork and rovers prime examples of high attd and low attds. Cork have an actual football stadium.

Quality of Football...yah know the thing "we" all love....quality imo has been improving tenfold since i started going in the 80s. Atm you have Pats Sligo and Dundalk playing some super football. Imo this is down to the coaching at underage level, they getting better at coaching we getting better players who didnt go abroad. Honourable mentions to UCD and Cork. Oh and the FAI for work in the underage section......

Dundalk barely had 300 fans at a home FAI cup semi 2 years ago, brought nearly 1200 to Richmond last season. Im sure you have an amount of fans in your head that you have. We on the other hand have a consistent **** crowd :pac: good or bad our crowd is around the same level.

What a load of tosh! Even you can't believe that. There were over 2000 people at that game. Are you seriously trying to claim there were nearly 2000 Pats fans in Oriel? Disappointed with you dreamers.

Brilliant draw for Dundalk in the FAI Cup. A chance to avenge yesterday's heartbreaking defeat. Friday 8th of June will see the wrongs put right. **** draw for Sligo.

Cobh vs Derry is a nice draw. Two trips to County Cork for Derry in the space of a few weeks though.

I hear there's a press conference being held in Old Trafford at 10am tomorrow to unveil him as the new manager. All this hype about van Gaal has been a clever ruse.

The Beast Elds gone by mutual consent from City. Wonder if we can send Maguire home early and give Elds another go.
