Total cúnt, pure and simple. This immoral fúcker personifies FF in my opinion.

I agree last night was a reminder of what FF was. FG were just as bad and it's only a matter of time before more dirty muck comes out in relation to FG.

You wish but no they weren't

Yeah he has a reptilian look about him. Just like the king of corruption himself Charlie Haughey. They literally look like they snakes everyone knows them to be..

Indeed , but of those only one was a member of FG. To compare that shower to Haughey,Flynn,Lawler,Burke,Ahearn et al is laughable.

Corruption is systemic in FF , you can't say the same for other parties

Ben Dunne was found to have in the Moriarty Tribunal to have paid for a £395,000 extension to Michael Lowrys house.

Ben Dunne contributed close to £200,000 to FineGael in the late 1980s. John Bruton, Michael Noonan and Ivan Yates all received some chunk of that money from him. The donation was never disclosed and only came out in the tribunal again.

FF were corrupt, but so were FG. They just happened to be in opposition at the right time.

It just highlights the absolute arrogance and smugness and the real divide between the two societies of Ireland.
Sick to death of hearing how some of them appear to be beyond the law and little or nothing done about. Even the Anglo trial (imo) descended into a farce.
When will they ever be accountable, probably never!
But if you are ever caught without a T.V. licence its into the courts with you.

There was one councillor found guilty of receiving a corrupt payment in Co. Waterford but strangely the guy who was accused (millionaire developer) of making the payment was found not guilty.

The power of being able to afford decent legal representation...

and don't forget he paid off Haugheys dept's to the tune of what was it 2 million ?? Dunne donated to the three main parties , he even gave 15k or so to Mary Robinson presidential campaign.

The video of pee Flynn begins to lose some clout over time as inflation eats into the perception of his salary. My guess is these days it would be as if he was earning 250-350k post tax.

FG aren't in the same league when it comes to corruption. FF were probably one of the worst things to happen this country

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,803 ✭✭✭Roanmore

Isn't the reason Flynn never faced charges is because FF never reported the money as stolen? They were afraid of the can of worms that would be opened if they did.

FF's Mary Hanafin set to make shock return to politics

The old guard are sneaking back

They really do have the most finely polished brass necks. How do any them have the gall to even approach the doors? Perhaps experiments need to be conducted on these species.

No real consequences if you're a part of the elite. All you have to do is get in, and you are essentially safe from serious consequence for the rest of your life - look at Cowan and O'Brien there.

If she does get in what does that say about the voters of Dún Laoghaire? Amnesia?

We expect it from the likes of Tipperary and Mayo but Dún Laoghaire!?

Yes because Dubs are sooo intellectually superior, aren't they? That's why they voted for B Ahern And C Haughey while they rode you like a circus pony over and over isn't it?

Michael Lowry is still getting voted in to this day. His son is being groomed to take the family heirloom next.

Dubliners were caught on the hop by the good economy. Dublin has pretty much been cleansed of the worst.

But Tipp and Mayo do have reputation when it comes to their representatives and there is no point denying it because it is true.

Kerry as well. If the Healy Rae's ran on the promise of riding every sheep in Kerry and doing nothing for 5 years they would still get elected. It's gombeen politics.

I think Dubliners are more savvy voters - yes, not at all perfect, but when you look at certain constituencies down the country the bar is higher in Dublin.

Caught on the hop ! You are joking! More savvy !Sure! The savvy north side salt of de earth intellectually superior Dubs voted for Haughy in every single election from 1957 till 1992 while he laughed up his sleeve at them from beginning to end. I could name out every corrupt Fianna Fail councillor thry oted for over and over but its all there just a click of the mouse away so it too easy. Your not even savvy enough to know not to post this kind of rot.

Those politicians are not elected anymore - that is the difference. FF has little representation in Dublin.

You don't seem to realise how arrogant and ignorant this makes you appear. It'll be a cold day in hell before anyone in the country let's people who kissed the coatails of Ahern and Haughey for 40 years tell them how to vote.

You think what I am saying is untrue? What do you think most right thinking people feel when they see Tipp's finest in the Dáil?

Tell me then when are Tipp voters going to stop voting for a politician who has been proven to be corrupt in a tribunal of inquiry?

It's just bizarre that some are surprised the country is the way it is when you see that at one election after another.
