I'd keep it in the cooler bag but it should be fine then.
I think it's hard for them to know how long you'll be on the meds if it's the first time because everyone reacts differently so they'll tell you at the scan. Best of luck on Friday!

Cooler bag should be fine. You'd only have to worry about it if you were in a hot climate e.g. 27c or higher.
Ovitrelle is the trigger to bring on ovulation. I'm not sure what protocol you are doing but it is given 36hours prior to egg collection in Ivf. You wouldn't inject more stimms after trigger, there wouldn't be any point. I've just had my trigger yesterday for tomorrow morning's collection.

Cooperspale I'm just doing injections for tsi, 3 months of those before going onto IVF, praying these work for me

Thanks for all your responses guys, feeling kind of excited this month, not sure why but I suppose it's better than feeling depressed and negative!

I'm a fan of TSI. Got duffed on my 3rd cycle. (2nd got cancelled due to too many eggs so it really was my second try on it) Pro-tip: sexy outfit time. Timed shags can get very pressurised, especially with money being spent and so on, I highly recommend making it as romantic/durty as you like for the 'timed' part of it. Even better if its a surprise to himself, will take his mind right off the medical side of things and to the matter in *ahem* hand. ;)

Just a little note of hope, encouragement and thought to all of you currently trying to conceive. I am nearly 37, had a reduced egg reserve and my partner and I used the assistance of a fertility clinic that I really cannot recommend highly enough for their care, professionalism, efficiency and work. After our 2nd round of IVF, I tested positive this Monday morning.

I know everyones case is different, individual and there are so many variables but to be honest, I really wasn't sure we would have luck this time, we are so grateful, slightly shocked and happily dazed at the moment. We had 9 eggs collected, 7 fertilised, we went to blastocyst stage and were left with 2 grade 'C' embryos for implantation. We will find out next week if its one or two we can expect.

To everyone going through the clock watching, the needle changing, the timed injecting, the tablet taking, the scanning, the probing, the blood tests, the 'how will I get time off work again?' worry, please know that positive results can and do happen. Try to stay relaxed, remain calm with the process and take as much pressure off yourselves as possible. We can only do so much, the rest is down to skilled professionals and the real magic is down to nature, luck and chance.

I wish you all the very very best on your journey and hope it will be a successful one for you and your families to be, xxx

PS: I will PM the name of the clinic if anyone needs it and if I can answer any questions I would be delighted to.

    So true!

I had my 10 day scan today, using Gonal F, took Ovitrelle today, all was good on scan, have a size 16 follicle, bloods are good and lining is good so fingers crossed!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 686 ✭✭✭Hollywood130

    Hi guys

I took Ovitrelle on Friday and have TERRIBLE ovulation pains today, like walking hurts, anyone get pains that bad?? These are way more painful than usual, is that a good sign?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 686 ✭✭✭Hollywood130

Well I am 6dpo and for the past 6 days I have had pains mainly down my right side, usually get these pains but they NEVER last this long. My boobs well mainly nipples have been killing me and they're quite white which I have never experienced before, tender boobs ocassionally but not as bad! Also feeling tired and very hungry every second day... Are these really just symptoms from the Gonal F and Ovitrelle or could it be something more??

AF due this day week, keeping everything crossed! Hope all you lovely ladies have a lovely Easter!

Hi everyone, I posted this already in the general TTC thread, but since I'm definitely a longer termer too (4+ years trying!), thought I'd post this here as well, for anyone who doesn't read the other thread. My news is that I had my appointment in hari earlier this week. The long and short of it is that icsi has been recommended for us and they are keen for us to start asap. Its a lot to take in, as it now feels like things are moving very quickly for us. Found out I have very low amh (had arranged the test through my gp in advance of the hari appointment) and despite my husband going all healthy, the results of his second SA were much the same as the first set of results - they are in the icsi range. I know the low amh result is not the end of the world as I'm quite young (youngish anyway!), but they definitely felt like there was no time to lose and said I shouldn't waste any time. Getting a few more tests done before we can start ivf, have to meet with a doctor from the ivf team to discuss everything, but it looks like I'll be starting sometime in June/July depending on how my cycles work out.

Any one any idea how long you wait from time of referral from hospital to get seen in the rotunda, how many months?

It's been a big week for you; you'll have had an awful lot of information to process and there are probably still a bunch of questions going through your head.
First off, everyone cycles a bit differently so don't panic or overthink things. Also not everyone gets pregnant on their first cycle, some clinics use it as a learning experience. A friend was successful on her first attempt; she had male factor issue problems only ( which I think is the easiest problem to solve )
I have had 4 ICSI with clinic #1 & 2 ICSI HA with new clinic & yet to find a result. I never get leftovers to freeze. My eggs are poor. My new doc is the best here for poor AMH & she told us with our issues she would think 8-9 times at ICSI for a 20% chance result. Hearing that kind of news is very sobering indeed. We figured it was still our best shot after being to an adoption information day where we were given a 4% chance.
I've done Long Protocol & Short Antagonist & to be honest the short protocol is a better way to approach it with low AMH from my personal experience; better egg collection number & fertilization rate.
If you have any question about ICSI I will probably be able to answer it, only thing is I am not in Ireland so not familiar with particular clinics there but the processes & meds are the same.
    Good luck

Thanks a million for the information Cooperspale and so sorry to hear that you have been through so many unsuccessful cycles. The 20% success rate is certainly very sobering. Do you mind me asking - is that due to poor quality or quantity of eggs or is it a combination of issues? I've very low amh (about 2 pmol/L) so I know quantity is low, but I'm hoping quality is ok - will probably find out based on our first cycle! They are talking about using short protocol, but we will know more when we have our next visit. It's been a long time coming, so think I'm coping with the news ok so far!

Hi martin-g, when you say you are being referred from hospital to the rotunda, do you mean the hari unit at the rotunda? Or are you being referred from one hospital to another? Are you going private or public, because waiting times will vary depending.

I think for me, it is quality at this stage
Last cycle: 16 collected, 11 inseminated, 7 fertilized. 1 arrested on day 2. We were trying to do a day 5 blast transfer but the lab called on day 3 & said 2 looked way ahead of the rest so we had to do the 3 day transfer. The remaining 4 arrested between day 4 & 5.
I think that one should be looking for a 60% fertilisation rate, which we don't get. And then only 40% usually get to blastocyst stage.

I'm sorry to hear that cooperspale. I see from your other posts that you've been through so much and what you see in your line of work must be so difficult at times. I'm not going to say the old good old phrase that gets trotted out all the time that it will definitely happen at some point, but I will say that I really HOPE that it does. All the best xx

I want to start ivf in July so I am looking into the clinics in Dublin at the moment. I have heard of 2 people (one of them being Bobski) in the last few weeks that have got pregnant on their first attempt in the Hari. However I know that other clinics transfer 2 embryos instead of just the one. Even though I feel like the Hari seems like it gets results I also wonder if I should go to a clinic that doubles my chances as I don't have an endless amount of money to keep trying ivf. I would be grateful for any advice.

Pennyloves you can discuss with hari if you want to transfer 2 .It depends on your age and egg quality, they will transfer more than one if it's arranged beforehand . just something else to consider.
