I have two water turtles, I wouldn't normally be a person for keeping exotic pets but other family members bought them, stuck them in a bowl and pretty much abandoned them.

I was very surprised by them, once I got them a proper set up they came to life, they are nothing like their land loving cousins, they're full of energy and start splashing the water when I come in to get my attention, very curious about any people that enter the room. They get so excited at feeding time I have to start by hand feeding them the first bit or they just follow my hand around missing the food I throw in.

    ugh they sound so cute.
I've a bird, a dog and two fish. The fish do something similar, I'e had them years and I know they're only fish but there's practically a dialogue at feeding time. The bird (canary)was found outside on the ground few years ago, her feathers never really grew properly so she looks ridiculous but she's a ticket and has a personality all of her own.
The dog is a little ball of crazy.

Turtles are hilarious. My friends have one for years, they take him out for a bit everyday, he just loves to stroll around the house and hide under things.

I have 2 german shepherds. The younger one we got as a pup and the older one we rescued. The rescued dog is a bit scared still, very damaged from whatever went on in her past but she's hilarious and very loving.
The pup is as mad as a brush, very playful and just loves life.

Sadly, we had our 4 year old great dane put to sleep just over 9 weeks ago and it was the worst thing I've ever been through in my life. Still heartbroken over it. He was my best friend in the world and life is just not the same without him.

I could never not have a dog, they are lovely companions :)

I want to build an enclosure for them outside, I know it's wrong but I kind of want to see them eat a bird. They're coming up on a foot long and there's very little that could mess with them these days. Even I have to be extremely cautious with them or they'd slice me open by accident, they're claws are like razor blades.

Iv a mad little Jack Russell who is 17 years old in a few months. She is 100% blind and a small bit deaf but manages great. She still manages to run up and down the garden barking at the kids next door. Iv had her since I was 12 years old and she has moved house with me 3 times. She's a big part of the family and is older than some of my cousins.

Dogs are amazing creatures, we went away for a few days and left her with my Mother,Even though she is blind when we came back she was in the garden about 20ft away, we made no sound and she could smell us and started to wag the tail and get excited.

Have a 10 year old fox red lab called Max (full name Maximus, after the gladiator character) gorgeous dog, couldn't ask for a better pet!

Then there's Piglet, our newest edition, a pug/cavalier cross pup - she's the cheekiest, most mischievous little munchkin I've ever come across and she hasn't got two brain cells to rub together...in front of the fam I pretend I can't stand her but she's secretly growing on me :o

    There's the two of 'em

    Awww so cute:)

I've got a cat but she's semi-feral at the best of times. Comes in to eat, gets humped by my crazy Jack Russell and runs back out again.

I have a small toy breed. He is the light of my life. Struts around the place like hes king of the castle. He is curious about everybody and everything and doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He often sleeps with his head on my shoulder.
He provides me with love, comfort and lots of laughs. I could not be without my angel:) He does eat my socks though and once a year chews on my shoes.

I have a rough collie, like Lassie, he's 9. He's a pure ape and is here snoring beside me. He's gone since 6 this morning to a neighbouring dog that's in heat and he's fecked out after his day of debauchery! They must have been rolling in silage because he smells horrific.

I've two dogs at the mo; one cocker spaniel and one labrador/staff thing.

Here's the cocker when we just got her http://omg.wthax.org/57Qss3.jpg
here she is all grown up http://omg.wthax.org/6M7vxV.jpg
    here's the lab/staff when she was a puppy http://omg.wthax.org/86Xph5.jpeg
    here she is now http://omg.wthax.org/4SCcy7.jpg

we also had a turtle which went feral and had to be rehomed. never heard from her new owners again so I can only assume she killed and ate them.

We've a german shephard cross who we rescued, she's roughly 4 I think. Fairly well behaved dote of a dog, but can be excited easily! Loves getting attention :)

The boss of the house is our 16 year old black and white cat. The dog keeps out of her way but would like to be friends :pac:

Also have two fat outdoor bunnies and there's a dwarf hamster too.

Used to have way more pets before including tropical fish, a cornsnake and birds but that's my lot for the moment!

We have a Miniature Schnauzer who we are completely nuts about. While he loves us all, I have to admit, I'm his favourite. My husband thinks the dog believes he's my boyfriend! :-)

    They are a fantastic breed!

What's going on with all the feel good threads in AH? I come here to have my miserable outlook on life affirmed, and instead I get cheered up by pet and holiday threads. Keep it up!

I (well, my family) have a poodle/labrador cross. We adopted him from the pound almost 2 years ago. He's so fun! He lives with my Mother and Brother now in Kerry so I only get to see him every few weeks. Main reason I actually go home tbh :o

We have 5 dogs. 2 springer spaniels, Sid and Stan. Stan is stone mad, he doesn't stop all day! Sid is retired and lives indoors.
Duke is an English pointer, he lives outside with Stan. Duke is mad as well, and very loving
Lionel is my boy, he's a lurcher, he lives indoors, sleeps on my bed, and will tell you when he wants to go to bed. He is the loveliest, laziest boy in the world
And Betty, Betty is a little jack russel, she showed up at our house a few weeks ago and decided to stay! I took her to her owner who said I may as well keep her. Betty is so cute, loves to be carried everywhere, your lap is her lap, and she adores Lionel. Little bitch rolled in something nasty today and had to have a bath, she didn't like that one bit.

I live in Brisbane so we already have a few local 'pets'.

A possum that likes to climb through the kitchen window and help itself to my hot cross buns, plenty of geckos crawling up the walls and ceilings eating the moths, skinks and grasshoppers outside in the garden, a few variety of ants and a big blue tongued skink that visits every now and then.

    Plus the spiders.

Plus the bats that visit our trees in the night.

    All this in the city.

Getting a puppy soon (cockalier hopefully) so she will enjoy her friends.

I had the loveliest cheekiest cat until about half 7 this evening. Knock on the door and a man asking me if I had a black cat. The little fella was killed instantly after he ran out in front of the van. Stupid ****ing road outside has taken so many of my cats.

    I'm really sorry hugs

I'm really sorry to hear about your cat gonzo, I can't imagine how I'd cope if anything happened to my cat, I hope you're doing ok. I have a four year old beast of a black cat who I love like he is my own child, he sleeps in bed with us at night and he likes to sleep on my side and take up as much space as possible, snore and drool and then wake us at 5am to go out. I love him so much though, he's the most affectionate pet and he needs lots of love and attention and he is such good company.
