My moto g has 543 MB of free space yet when trying to install an app that was 27 MB in size today I'm notified I dont have enough storage space?

    Any ideas?

Free up some stuff temporarily and try again. It needs double the space, temporarily, to download and install it (so 54MB) and Android freaks out over having less than 500MB free.

Screen has developed a colour leakage fault :(. Got it from Tesco Direct, spent almost an hour including waiting time on phone to them only to get cut off gggrrrrr. They don’t send their collection package to Ireland and put me through to Tesco Irl... Going to call them again and use parcel motel address I think. But thought of waiting another hour and then reading and re reading out the address is putting me off.....

What kind of screen leakage fault? Mine has cracked the inside screen near the top of the screen I assume it's not something covered by the warranty so not much point in going back to Tesco

hmm hard to explain, kind of like faded colour smudges. It will fix itself sometimes, but mostly not.

Sorry I can't find the one I used.
It was a link that was posted on a forum which everyone replying said worked.
It involves accessing a secret menu on the phone by using the power and volume buttons. I can't remember all the steps though. Sorry.
There are lots of other tips if you google them

It sounds roughly like a problem that was on the ascend g300 back in the day. Where the 2 screens came into contact with each other and created almost a bubble effect. Applying pressure on where this bubble was located would quickly sort that out

It's the whole screen, and yeah that's the closest way to describe it, but it's not physically damaged. It fixes itself every now and again.

    Found it!
I actually cleared the cache to improve the battery life and it helped for a while
I have done it again so time will tell if it helps again.
You can follow the instructions here

Tweakker (by tweakker) should do the job. Its not automatic so you will need pen and paper.

Oh wait, it worked for me this time.

It shows barcodes onscreen for the IMEI, Serial Number and some other stuff.

    Hi,
I'm looking for a silicone thin cover that'll protect the moto G from any potential falls. Thanks in advance.

I've the Motorola flip shell and it's excellent, adds very little bulk to the phone and protects the screen too. €20 on amazon.

I've just got my moto g via tesco direct & parcel motel (129GPB for 16GB with tesco direct eCoupon TDX-PM4X). Ordered on Tuesday 22th of April about 10PM and got it on Friday 25th about 8PM.
The phone is cool ;-) for all people that are experiencing battery problems I would suggest to install 2 free apps from play store "Clean Master" and "Battery Doctor". Running those two apps from time to time ( clean mem cache & close unused apps/processes ) helps a lot!

I was going to pick one of these cases up but read some reports that the magnet fries the phones magnetometer, has anyone got one of these?

I got a cheaper (£5) one off eBay and no issues so far. Kinda want the official one at that price, though! :(

    Great phone for the money.

Hey guys just wondering does the Moto G from Meteor, Tesco or Vodafone have any branding on it? Boot animation, Vodafone apps, etc.

I'm going to get one and unlock it and would prefer if it was just clean unbranded OS.

Nothing on the Tesco one. Just the Android build number gives it away.

As far as I know all of the phone have very little in terms of brand interference. You really are getting as close to stock as you can without rooting.
