    Have you competed before?

No real clubs as such but plenty who compete and train.

never. I train alone and like lifting, just do deadlifts at the moment and squats. I reckon if coached and even just to be around other lifters it's something I could get good at

Where do you currently train etc?

I would also be interested in a club. I saw Hercules club website and thinking I might go along. Its in city centre. Retiring from rugby this year so need a new focus. 33 years old, only sporadically lifted but am fairly naturally strong so I'll give it a go.

Very few powerlifting clubs around. Majority of guys/girls I know who compete do their own training in commercial or semi private gyms. All you need is a barbell, power rack, a bench and some plates...

It'll be easier to find a coach than an actual club. Lots of good guys around Dublin that can offer you guidance.

suppose best thing then is to look for a training partner. anyone in YourFitness fancy it?

Best thing would be to get a coach first.
