The FF logo is getting slightly bigger. It's still rather small, but you no longer need a magnifying glass to make it out.

Once they are printed by companies in this state giving employment to people here i have no problem with them

They have a new logo too..."A New Generation".

Personally if we could ship every single one of them to Europe, not to the parliament, but somewhere like Calais, id be happy.

I'd be more concerned about them being secured properly so they don't cause a hazard and being taken down on time. Horrible eyesores.

I demand a picture of an election poster in Comic Sans. The world must know.

Here's hoping they take down the cable ties as well as their posters when finished.

Same here. More often than not, they are left behind.

Dublin City Council election postering guidelines.
Where Dublin City Council staff become aware of posters that are considered to be causing a hazard they will be removed and disposed.

Please note that our Customer Services Centre will handle complaints of any posters that are deemed to be causing a hazard to motorists or pedestrians and they are contactable on telephone number: 2221000 or email customerservices@dublincity.ie

The following guidelines may be helpful in ensuring that posters are not a hazard to the public:

Posters should be erected at a minimum height of 2.3 metres above footpaths, cycle tracks or any area to which pedestrians have access
Posters should not be erected on lamp standards with overhead line electricity feed, traffic signal poles, bridge parapets, overpasses, pedestrian bridges, or roadside traffic barriers
Posters should not obscure statutory road signs or traffic/pedestrian signals in any way
Posters should be securely fixed to poles with cable ties or similar material to facilitate removal without damage to the poles
Please note that cable ties be should be removed when the posters are being taken down.

Now you can report any election posters (in the Dublin City area) that are in contravention of the guidelines.
I post the above link in the hopes that people will complain about inappropriately erected posters and that at some point in our future we might have this BLIGHT* removed from our landscape.

*RantyPants use of SHOUTING kept to a minimum because I care.

Is there rules about removing other people's posters? There was a poster advertising a local event near me which somehow made its way onto the ground and was replaced by a campaign poster.

Don't know how your supposed to vote for any of these people. The only time I've even seen or heard of them was on their poster.

Is anyone else amazed at the cheek of some of these politicians (potentially?) at putting up their campaign posters early? If these people can't follow a simple instruction like "wait one more f***ing day before you put up your posters", does anyone think they would be suited for a job like this? They should be banned instead of fined.

Why do they put them up at night? We were driving home at about 11pm last night, a guy was up on a ladder, in the dark, and he dropped one.

Went right in front of the car!

As I mentioned earlier it's to get the best poles and positions for putting up posters. All the parties were postering last night. The shinnerbots are like a well-oiled machine when it comes to sticking up election posters (and if one is to believe the rumours - in taking posters from other parties down).

That Cavan fella nearly became president that time and didn't put up any posters.
    Conclusion: Posters useless.
Fake Twitter Accounts: Avoid at all costs

Just out for a walk earlier, I see the posters have blossomed overnight. I saw one enormous poster which appeared to be just left against railings. It may be that someone chopped it down, I suppose.

Yes, it is illegal to interfere with them as they are private property. Usually what might happen is that a candidate will have an agreement with the person who has the poster up to advertise a public meeting or the likes (usually from the same party) to replace it with an election poster.

I see that there are plenty of posters at junctions / traffic lights around Dublin, those will be torn down as they are breaking the law.

Good to know. The poster they took down was nothing to do with any political party so I'll be taking some photos on my way home this evening and sending them on to the County Council.

Most importantly, and decent looking ones on the posters?

Saw a potentially hot shinner called Lynn but I had a proper look while stopped at traffic and was disappointed. Live in south Dublin, but will be scouting further down the country at the weekend.

I really don't understand this. I put up and take down alot of posters and its alot easier to just clip the cable ties other wise you have to rip the poster off which is alot harder and we can reuse them to paint new posters on them for other events after the election.

Also worth pointing out that there are alot of smaller parties and independents with people who have never put up posters before I myself blocked a traffic sign and only realised in a car going by the next morning. Report them to the offending party and it be moved ASAP.

Also night time is the best time to put them up because there is less traffic, less pedestrians and no buses

They were caught on camera doing that in the north a few years ago. Blamed it on rogue elements.
