Sounds to me (because I'm having similar problems) the fuel pump, you'd need to get it checked for fuel pressure first though if theres no pressure it's your pump, is it like this? forgive the cheesy video but that's the one i watched

I do watch his videos from time to time. I think he does a good job on them videos.

    Yummy

Milage hidden is never good though :(

That is a nice car. Pictures could be better and have a few shots of interior and one or two of engine bay.

Meh it's black leather and engine bays on them all look the same, milage would be nice tbh.

Was the starter motor turning over or was it just going click click click?

Jump starting is the same :)

Nah it turned on the lights and that was it

What happened when you turned the key ie to start it. Did the engine turn over? Could well be the battery. It may have enough power to turn on the lights on the dash but not to turn the starter motor. Or is the the engine turning over.

Engine not turning over at all, dash lights came on and that was it

Flat battery it sounds like. Jump start should sort it out but it might need a new battery long term :)

I thought so too, as did the OH, I think it's a fairly old battery.

He is getting Axa out tomorrow to start it as he has that homestart thing on his policy, as I wasn't sure I didn't want to suggest we try jumping it from my car.

On another note, for the first time in three years, my car is off to the mechanic for what he describes as fun work:

    1. Full service
    2. Replacing dash lights (which I would do myself but haven't the time to)
    3. Replacing all door seals (will make a real difference road noise wise)
    4. Replacing the aerial
    5. Checking out the central locking
    5. Replacing the front grille
    6. Fitting the offside door rest

Fun work as it's not NCT related, or getting the damned car up to running standard, we'd a giggle lately when the OHs car went in, and came back with the wonky wiper fixed (It drove me nuts) and mech asked me why I hadn't mentioned it, as he was surprised, I just forgot and didn't want to be too demanding as well, he fixed it anyways. Then as the auto transmission fluid needed to be replaced, we'd a great chat about how well the car was running (the OHs) after, and a right giggle that the OH never noticed the gear stick hopping about, I had and had mentioned it to the mechanic.
