I had an indestructible phone but I accidentally washed it in the washing machine. :(

These threads always attract the hipsters, proudly boasting about their antique, indestructible brick mobiles, and lack of technological knowledge as though it's something to be proud of.

There should be some kind of charity exchange, where we all donate our old smartphones, to be handed out to all you digital homeless.

Same, everything I need is on it, don't use a laptop anymore. Battery is crap though so might get that app mentioned in this thread

Acer Liquid Z3 (Android). So far it's exceeded my expectations in every way, particularly its performance, and all for €60. It's small but nippy.

iPhone 5S. Previously had an iPhone 4 and some Symbian based Nokias (6680 and N86) before that.

I wouldn't trust myself with an Android phone as I went through a phase of tinkering with firmware and bricked a couple of phones in the process, Motorolas in particular. So that's why I went for something that I couldn't fiddle with.

Nokia Lumia 925, love this phone. Had 3 android phones before this and every one of them slowed to a crawl after a couple of months, so think I'll be sticking with windows for my next phone as well.

Lumia 520, nice cheap thing runs perfectly only issue is it has a **** camera. Would definitely buy another windows phone.

It's a new phone but doesn't have a camera or interweb.

iPhone 5C. Was playing with my dog yesterday, he jumped up on me and knocked my phone out of my hand. Screen totally cracked :( Never broken a phone in my life. Also never had a phone that cost me more than €100...and of course with this phone the screen smashes.

Lumia 710 from release. Hope to upgrade to a lumia 925 with WP8.1 soon.

This phone has never failed me in three years. Beats all my previous Android devices hands down.

iPhone 4. I've smashed it to fúck a few times and it barely works now, but whatever phone I get next, I'll stick with the iphone.

I've an Xperia Ray. It's two and a half years old and to be honest, there isn't anything wrong with it at all.

I'm thinking of upgrading for something bigger and with a good camera for going to America but dunno how I could afford roaming charges or anything over there.

Needs an option "I don't have nor want a smartphone. Mine goes for 10 to 14 days of routine use between charges".

    +1

6+ years old and still lasting more than a week between charges.

Went down the smartphone route a couple of years ago. Found when traveling for work I was still carrying around my old Samsung duel sim slide phone, to change the sim back to as more often than not the battery on the smartphone was dead or nearly so whenever I actually needed to make or receive a call.

Gave the smartphone to my daughter, both happy, she got a toy and I'm back to having a reliable working phone.

I've had all incarnations of the iphone and do love them, but I had the 5 robbed on me and made concious decision never to let anyone make me feel that bad again so went for cheap android (xperia E then an M) have to say whilst it's not an iphone, it does do most of the same stuff. It also forced me to open a gmail account which has actually been really handy, since dublin.ie wound up their email service. Would I get another iphone - hmmmm maybe not - I can run my ipad off the phone hotspot so it's not really essential. Might get an iPad mini though. They're quite reasonably priced at the mo.
