I'm just waiting for the clock to hit 6 and home time, and I was looking on the bbc football site, and out of the corner of my eye I noticed the league table.... and it hit me....really hit me.... we are top...one of the girls here asked was I ok? lol. for a split second I almost cried with pride....
please don't let this dream end badly... we have waited too long.... keep believing lads and lassies.

and to make matters worse I had to pull in the car on the way home, turn up the iPod and almost cry my way thru you'll never walk alone.... before I got in the front door....

Liverpool fc you are killing me....and yet I wouldn't change a thing...thank you for this year..no matter how it ends...you have made a long term fan very very happy:):D

Wasnt the year liverpool win the champions league hailed as a sort of spooky coincidence or "destiny" as the last time they had won the european cup, a new pope was elected, there was a royal wedding/prince charles got married and another thing or two, all that happened again in 2005? I remember hearing about that.

Nah, sure who believes in superstitions like that. :pac:

Superstitions and Coincidences I'm pretty sure there needs to be a Doctor Who connection in there for it to be the real deal :pac:

Thought I heard that the Arsenal team in 64 went onto win the cup after 8 trophyless years.....?

The last time both united and arsenal finished outside the top 4 was 35 years ago. In that season (78-79), we won the league and everton finished 4th. We won the last 4 games without conceding a goal and were unbeaten in the last eight. We won 3-0 at OT and just for good measure, arsenal won the FA cup that season ending their eight year trophy drought.

There tends to be a huge overreaction when any of our players are in form too (Sterling > Neymar anyone? :p).

Just the nature of football fans, I find the relationship between (a section of) Arsenal fans and Wenger to be the best example.

The best Sterling posts were in the United thread early in the season. A couple of posters worried Adnan might get burn out and turn out like Sterling!

Yep we can just enjoy Sterling for what he is now. An excellently talented 19 year old that scares the sh1t out of defenders when he runs at them with his blistering pace. Comparisons of Neymar and John Barnes are unfair and needless and not always accurate.

When was the last time Arsenal and Man Utd finished outside the top 4?

Who won the league and where did Everton finish?

How much did we win by at Old Trafford and who won the FA cup after 8 trophyless years?

These are important questions and we need answers. Anyone?

All contact is not a foul. It's (or was) a contact sport

Never said all contact was a foul but when a player is leaving the defender for dead as Luis was and get's clipped it's a foul simple as that. Suarez made the most of it.

In fairness it isn't just his pace, he's very strong and great at shielding the ball and dribbling in tight situations, there's times he keeps the ball with 3/4 opponents around him, nobody around him to pass to, he turns and away we go on the counter attack. I suppose the complimenty to him is he doesn't look out of place in that video showig his and Coutinho's best moments.

Who needs a CF who holds the ball up well, Hughes did that well towards the end of his United days, Sterling gives you that plus blistering pace and the creative side starting to develop. Him and Sturridge would be great to watch for England in the alternative reality minus Roy managing them.

Most impressive is the change from a year ago when a light breeze knocked him off the ball. Seems to have developed a way of bracing himself, wide stance to hold the opposition off.

I was one of Sterlings detractors. To my shame, I used to relish his poor performances as it vindicated my opinion of him, but now I think he is a huge talent who is improving with every game. I remember people would comment if he had a poor game and I would reply "it's because he's ****". Well what the **** would I know? I never kicked a ball since I was 15 and once when I asked my old man if he thought I was awkward he replied " sometimes son, I think it's a miracle you can walk"

Just watched the 30 for 30 on Hillsborough. The recollections of the family members are truly and utterly heartbreaking.

In terms of the documentary itself, it doesn't contribute anything new to the subject, but it's a good overview for those unfamiliar with the topic.

Education is the key as unfortunately some morons still blame the fans for what happened. How anyone could watch that and not feel angry just as a football fan and not just a liverpool fan is beyond me.

The Sun's lies lived on, look at the Levinson enquiry to see how the police and the supposed impartial press were in cohoots. Propaganda from the police to cover up their lies and gullible, hate filled, cess pit type fans ready and willing to swallow it, hook, line and sinker. We've had to put up with them at times on here, imagine what the families and those close to them put up with.
