If we sign 3 players ready for the first 11, anything else would be a bonus. A defender, midfielder and a forward.

Wisdom, Illori, Ibe, Suso and Texeira will hopefully contribute something next season if they aren't out on loan.

Quality competition is definitely what's needed. When you see Moses coming on you know the bench needs upgrading.

We've had injuries but on the most part we've avoided major crisis etc. When Suarez was out Sturridge was fit and vice versa.

Be so sweet if Suarez stayed as our front four have such a good understanding. With him especially the team is capable of anything tbh.

Speaking of Coates, he played 90 minutes of football a few days ago. Here's some highlights, sorry if re-posted, I didn't see it.

Suso returning is not a given. I think he'll be sold to a Spanish club to be honest. Perhaps Sevilla as part of any Rakitic deal or Valencia.
I get that feeling too to be honest.

If nothing else I think the above are more or less all squad standard, we don't need to be bringing in stop gaps etc. we should hopefully be able to focus on bringing in the absolute highest quality we can afford, while the above mentioned can fight for places.

If it's for the best so be it. Liverpool can't afford to be sentimental over these decisions. Fans seem fascinated about having to have good kids constantly making it long term with the first team. Truth is it's very difficult for many of them to make it through no matter how much we all want them to.

Whether he'd make it it not with us is one thing but I'd hate for him to go without seeing what he can do for us.

I'd hate for us to do what Inter did with Coutinho. I'd say they watch him now and think wtf did we sell him for. Also, why the fcuk did we sell him so cheap!

Unless things went really bad on loan for him I don't see any reason to let Suso go. Why would we?

Mad Men's Don Draper : What you call love was invented by guys like me, to sell nylons.

Inter have done this a few times with young players. Hopefully Liverpool's scouts are watching what Suso does this season and will decide with Rodgers whether he has a future or not. I doubt it will be a decision taken lightly.

Perhaps Liverpool feel he's not at a level to compete in a Champions League squad? He could be good enough too. We'll know come September

Lads I bought 7 of the Hillsborough 96 patches and they arrived yesterday. Only need one for myself, gave 3 away and have 3 going spare if anyone wants them. Otherwise they'll just stay in the packets in my bedside locker which would be something of a waste.

Let me know if anyone is interested, thanks!

Might sound mad but Diego Costa will be available for £32m supposedly.

Think we could afford that and we should be able compete with Chelsea on salary.

IF we were PL Champions, it could be a runner. Sit him down, show him some clips of our amazing attacking football, a few YNWA Anfield clips and Bobs your Uncle.

I think Liverpool might be able to compete with the fee but not the salary.

    £185,000p/w is what's been quoted.

I can't see us going for Ravel Morrison to be honest. If Konoplyanka comes in, Suso returns, and maybe we're looking at Will Hughes, I just don't see where he fits in. And that is also assuming the likes of Aspas and Alberto are shipped out.

I'll be honest though, Morrison isn't a player I have seen enough on. Is he actually good enough?

I think we'll be looking at higher calibre players than Will Hughes tbh.

Id say costa will definitely end up at chelsea unfortunately, in desperate need of a quality striker and he'd be the best "available" one around

    Its a trap lads.

He'll be arriving in a beat up station wagon at your door with ten kids in the back looking for somewhere to crash for the night!

Costa and Suarez in the same team would be pretty mental.

I have my doubts if Liverpool will sign any player on that salary in the summer.
I know Suarez will be on more next season but that's a reward for performing well for the club.

Let's hope it goes the way things usually go when they sign a quality striker.

    I'd say you're right.

Would be a huge starting salary.

So....I was reading on Twitter the other day that we had scouts watching Hakan Çalhanoğlu and a conversation started about how we wont be signing big name players but players the fit the system.

    This guy said....
    Jan Gorski-Mescir ‏@Fydsy Apr 15

@Olafur_Tomasson @Mamuniho @JackSear Is correct. The right players for the right jobs in a gestalt system/entity. 'Names' are irrelevant.

Google gestalt and see what images appear ;)

Morrison seems to be a totally different kettle of fish altogether. I'm not sure even Rodgers could keep him on the straight and narrow. He lit up a smoke on the bench after being taking off lately. He's been pictured hanging around street corners in London with not so nice fellas. Morrison seems to have issues that not even the best man manager could control.

Absolutely worth the risk in my opinion. Rodgers has proven to be pretty effective when it comes to man management. Remember we were in for Costa and people wondered whether we were actively trying to sign the most disliked people in football? That would have worked out nicely!

No kids, no station wagon and no need for a roof over my head!
At least I don't think I have any kids!!!

I think Fjortoft said Rodgers plans on watching him himself at the weekend

No I think he's on 160k until the summer and 200k come July

I really don't think Costa would suit your style of play whatsoever. It'd be like sticking a round peg in a square hole. Fantastic player but definitely a lot more suited to Chelsea.
