I have to say he was right what he said on front line about the youth being molly coddled (and I include myself in that) graduates on blaming the government for everything, I have to agree he comes across as very cocky sometimes but its obvious that the hatred people seem to have for him is clearly down to jealousy.

ah i dunno if its jealousy, i mean, all due respect to him but he doesnt have much to be jealous about, i'd say its more the fact that he spends his time thinking that he is better than everyone else because he gets up in the middle of the night

I was out for dinner last month, and Bill and Jackie were at the table beside us with some randomer. I didn't notice them until there was a break in the conversation and I heard this really familiar voice.

They were ACTUALLY talking about having only one pair of shoes between the 7 of them, or whatever, as a child. I thought I'd stumbled into a reality tv show or something.

he didn't end up penniless, hes not dead is he? lots of entrepreneurs fail in business many times in their life sometimes but they usually get back up and keep going.you have to admire that.

certainly i think most people would admire him as a business man, however he's not the only one who grew up in poverty and he's not the only one to have climbed out and made a good life for himself, i think the problem is that he consistently goes on about it like he was the only one to have ever done it, also not everybody was as lucky as him, a lot of people remained in poverty, many of them through no fault of their own, many people worked and work as hard as bill cullen but never got the breaks, also not everyone can get up at 4am and function all day, not everyone can go into business, and putting so much of his life into his business means that a lot of other things and people suffered, i'm sure his ex wife would testify to that...

are they any good of a jeep? i believe its only jeeps they sell? i cant see there being much of a market for them, as i say, i seen them out years ago and they didnt go too well

In fairness to Bill he came from nothing. Shur his family only owned one shoe between the 100 of them, only had water on special occasions, he slept on a floor made of rusty nails, and was overjoyed one xmas when he got the skin off an orange.

If he is such a great businessman how come he went bust, the man sold cars during the Celtic Tiger hardly a business genius. He has ambition and drive i'll give him that but its his arrogance the way he talks down to people, get up at 4am we can't all do that Bill you fool, remember him on the LLS a few years back telling everybody to work for free. Yeah i bet the big businessman Bill would love free slave labor total arrogant waanker. The government is a lot to blame for people being unemployed the way that fool goes on you'd swear people just weren't bothered looking for work. Also doesn't he owe a lot of money to banks ect hypocrite telling others what to do and this man won't pay his debts.

dick phelan, i think you hit the nail on the head, he sold cars in the celtic tiger and as soon as things got tough he went bust, he is an arrogant arsehole and he does talk down to everybody and thats why people hate him, yes i remember that when he told everybody to work for free, i mean where was he going with that? people have to survive and to do that they need money, just because he gets up at 4am doesnt make him better than everyone else, its true, people do want to work unfortunately employment is still on a low, we cant all get bailed out by a bunch of koreans....
the man has drive and determination which are admirable however its his arrogance and greed that brought him down, selling ssang yong out of a shed on the naas road, it must be a bit of a come down for the big businessman

They're alright in an Asian sort of way. Although South Korean, the Indian Mahindra & Mahindra group are their major owner these days. They manufacture Mercedes-Benz engines from a model generation or two back, under license, so they're solid enough mechanically. The Chinese, for example, reckon they've really arrived when they finally get one of these things - maybe Billah should move to Shanghai and really re-make his fortune, like a Waddior, wha'?? :pac::pac::pac:

What's it to you if he drives one or not. You're beginning to sound extremely bitter. What did he ever do to you. Lots of good business men and women have failed over the last 6 years through no fault of their own. It doesn't make them all greedy pr**ks. I don't know Bill Cullen nor have I ever met him but my brother in law worked as a service manager for him for many years and said he was a decent, fair, hard working individual. I'd be more inclined to base an opinion on his personality with facts like that. He has also provided employment for hundreds of people over the years, how is that such a bad thing?
But maybe you know the man and know differently. Surely you're not making your assumptions based on a reality TV show and a few promo interviews. You know, Nidge probably isn't really a thug, and Tracy Barlow probably isn't really a cnut.

all due respects to bill cullen but i dont have much to be bitter towards him, best of luck to him of course, i hope, like any person trying to make it in business that he does well, however he is a very condescending man who looks down and talks down to others because he gets up at 4 o clock in the morning etc, you dont have to be a prick to be in business and you dont have to be in business to be a prick, you are who you are at the end of the day, in regard to being bitter, if anyone sounds bitter, its billo himself, bitter that he had to drag himself up out of the tenements and now he's bitter with the banks.....
